El álbum está compuesto por “Génesis” y “Enigma”. En “Génesis” Royce amplía el sonido y las influencias que dieron inicio a su carrera, esta vez con conceptos y letras más maduras, y a la vez experimenta con elementos más tradicionales que cambian las canciones al integrar interesantes colaboraciones. En “Enigma”, Royce se sumerge en distintos mundos musicales con los cuales experimenta, se arriesga y evoluciona. La mezcla del álbum estuvo en su mayoría a cargo de Luis Barrera Jr. y Alfredo Matheus, con la participación de Josh Gudwin, Jess Jackson, Juan Mario “Mayito” Aracil y Luca Pretolesi en cuatro canciones. ALTER EGO fue masterizado por Dave Kutch en The Mastering Palace.

ALTER EGO is Royce’s latest tour-de-force production, one that wonderfully expounds, both musically and lyrically, the different sides of the versatile singer-songwriter-artist: the romantic bachata crooner with lush buttery-smooth vocals we have come to know and love and then the equally impressive flip-side – his ALTER EGO. This double album clearly focused on tropical music has killer vocals that captivate in a variety of genres; from romantic bachata to more street bachata, to R&B tracks, pop, some raps with flow and urban-influenced beats.
ALTER EGO encapsulates a two-year creative journey of musical expression that ends up in a fantastic labyrinth of romance in its different forms of expression. The double album is comprised of “Genesis” and “Enigma”. In “Genesis”, Royce expands upon the sound and influences that kick-started his career, this time with more mature concepts and lyrics, while also experimenting with more traditional elements and switching things up with interesting collabs. In “Enigma”, Royce submerges himself in and experiments with different musical worlds, he takes risks and evolves. The result is a masterpiece that represents the best of all worlds – a powerful Latin (Spanish-language with some English) double album destined to become a classic, where we get to experience a rich musical adventure that includes everything from bachata to urban to pop to R&B.
All of the bachatas on the album were produced by D’lesly “Dice” Lora, Royce’s longtime producer since his very first album, co-produced by Prince Royce, who is also co-wrote all the songs on the double-disc set.
