MIAMI (4 de marzo de 2022) – Con Pa’lla Voy, su incomparable nuevo álbum bajo el sello Sony Music Latin, Marc Anthony ha vuelto a cambiar las reglas del juego.
Hace veintinueve años, del debut de Marc en enero de 1993, Otra Nota, una colaboración con el productor Sergio George que transformó el sonido de la salsa para siempre. Ahora, con Pa’lla Voy, los dos creadores ofrecen un álbum refrescante que es a la vez innovador y comercial. Pa’lla Voy representa la visión de un artista en la cima de su carrera y la canción que lleva el título del álbum, Pa’lla Voy, lanzada como sencillo en agosto de 2021, es un éxito mundial.
El tercer sencillo y video, “Nada de Nada”, estrena hoy junto con el álbum.
Escrita por el equipo de hermanos venezolanos San Luis (Santiago y Luigi Castillo), producida por la figura que definió la carrera de Marc, Sergio George, y por primera vez en un proyecto de Marc Anthony como productor asociado Motiff, “Nada de Nada” cuenta con el apoyo de un video musical retro en blanco y negro.
Dirigido por Jay Martin, en “Nada de Nada” una historia de amor tras bastidores con la energía explosiva de Marc que nos transporta en un viaje en el tiempo, a la altura de la era de las grandes bandas con referencias de la década de 1940’s en un ambiente vintage de club nocturno al estilo Casablanca.
Además de ser el artista de salsa con mayores ventas de todos los tiempos, Marc Anthony ha desarrollado sus habilidades dramáticas a lo largo de su carrera en películas, en Broadway y en cantidad de videos musicales.
En el mini-documental que acompaña al disco, los hermanos Castillo hablan de cómo Marc convirtió su canción en su historia. “Marc vive con las canciones por mucho tiempo”, dice Santiago Castillo. “Él sigue escuchando y sigue escuchando, y cada vez le da más de su personalidad, para que la canción termine siendo absolutamente suya”.
“La entrega de su voz viene directamente de su corazón”, agrega Luigi. “Cuando escribes para Marc, tu experiencia se convierte en su experiencia. Él se hace cargo de la canción. Lo vive, lo lleva en su corazón y lo hace inmensamente suyo”.

“Marc es un mago”, dice Sergio. “La experiencia de trabajar con él ha sido la misma desde el principio. Hemos estado grabando juntos durante treinta años y casi nunca cambiamos”.
Pero este también es un Marc Anthony diferente al que conocías. Es más maduro, con más profundidad en su voz. Son canciones nacidas de la experiencia, y con actitud propia.
El encierro le dio la oportunidad de concentrarse en su interior. “Estaba sobrecargado con la necesidad de ir al estudio”, dice. “Tuve tiempo para absorber estas canciones de una manera diferente, más tiempo para enamorarme de las canciones y trabajar en ellas”.
Pa’lla Voy trae un sonido propio, y nació en Miami, la capital mundial de la grabación de música latina, donde la compañía de Marc, Magnus Music, ha estado desarrollando jóvenes compositores de primer nivel, de américa latina, que también son productores y artistas. ellos mismos.
“En Magnus estoy rodeado de escritores”, dice Marc. “Escriben con mi voz en mente, con mis inflexiones en mente: ‘¿qué haría Marc con esto?’ Termino con un tesoro de material. MIAMI (March 4, 2022) – With Pa’lla Voy, his forceful new album under Sony Music Latin, Marc Anthony has once again changed up the game.
Twenty-nine years ago, Marc’s January 1993 debut, Otra Nota, a collaboration with producer Sergio George, transformed the sound of salsa forever. Now, with Pa’lla Voy, the two creators offer up a fresh album that’s both innovative and commercial. Pa’lla Voy, presents a vision of him at the peak of his powers and the title track, “Pa’lla Voy,” released as a single in August 2021, is a worldwide smash.
The third single and video, “Nada de Nada,” drops on alongside the album today.
Written by the Venezuelan brother-team SanLuis (Santiago and Luigi Castillo), produced by Marc’s career-defining producer Sergio George and with Motiff taking part as associate producer for the first time on a Marc Anthony project, “Nada de Nada” is supported by a retro black-and-white music video.
Directed by Jay Martin, the video for “Nada de Nada” is a backstage love story that shows the explosive energy of Marc during a live performance and takes us on a trip back in time, to the height of the big band era with visions of the 1940’s in a vintage nightclub/Casablanca vibe.
Besides being the best-selling salsa artist of all time, Marc Anthony has developed his dramatic skills throughout his career – in movies, on Broadway, and in dozens of music videos. In the mini-documentary accompanying the album, the brothers Castillo talk about how he turned their song into his story. “Marc lives with the songs for a long time,” says Santiago Castillo. “He keeps listening and keeps listening, and every time he gives it more of his personality, so that the song finishes being absolutely his own.”
“The delivery of his voice comes straight from his heart,” adds Luigi. “When you write for Marc, your experience becomes his experience. He takes over the song. He lives it, he takes it into his heart, and he makes it immensely his own.”
As different as “Nada de Nada” is from the album’s first single, “Pa’lla Voy,” the videos have one important feature in common: they portray Marc’s showmanship fronting his band, because that’s where he’s in his glory.
It’s the same Marc Anthony you know. The same multi-platinum superstar who fills arenas in the US, throughout the Americas, and around the globe. The same soaring high notes from that voice that has been everywhere you go in the Spanish-speaking world for thirty years. The same no-holds-barred passion in the interpretations.
“Marc’s a magician,” says Sergio. “The experience of working with him has been the same from the start. We’ve been recording together for thirty years, and we almost never change.”
But this is also a different Marc Anthony than the one you knew. He’s more mature, with more depth in his voice. These are songs born of experience, with an edge.
The lockdown gave him the chance to focus inward. “I was overloaded with the need to go to the studio,” he says. “I had time to absorb these songs in a different way – more time to fall in love with the songs and work them out.”
Created in Miami, Pa’lla Voy brings a sound of its own, the world capital of Latin music recording, where Marc’s company Magnus Music has been developing top-notch young songwriters, from Latin America, who are also producers and artists themselves.
“In Magnus I’m surrounded by writers,” Marc says. “They write with my voice in mind, with my inflections in mind – ‘what would Marc do with this?’ I wind up with a treasure house of material. The result: although the nine songs on the album are by different writers, it’s one man’s story of amor y desamor – falling in and out of love.”
With everything in limbo for two years everywhere, “we felt a responsibility,” says Sergio, “this weight on us to keep it going, to keep salsa music alive.”
“Marc and Sergio are like brains wired together,” says Reggi el Auténtico, co-writer of “El Que Te Amaba.”
Pa’lla Voy is a party-starting dance record, with salsa gorda club bangers that redefine the music for the 2020s, with the live feel that Sergio George is known for – no machine tracks.
After 546 days without performing – “never in my life,” he says, had he gone that long – Marc Anthony’s lockdown is over. The “Pa’lla Voy” tour, which began last fall, continues at major venues in the US, Latin America, and Europe through spring, summer, and fall 2022.
