La cantante y compositora DIANA FUENTES lanza hoy su álbum LIBRE
“Libre” también es
el título de su nuevo sencillo y video.
MIAMI (12 de abril, 2019) – La
galardonada cantante y compositora cubana Diana Fuentes lanza
hoy Libre, el
tercer álbum de su trayectoria, junto con el sencillo y video que dan título al
disco. Todo este nuevo material se encuentra disponible en las principales
plataformas de música digital a través de Sony Music Latin.
“Libre” es una canción
contemplativa que habla de la necesidad de pasar a una nueva etapa de la vida
aunque eso implique un adiós. Con ternura y atemporalidad, la letra de “Libre”
alentará a todos los que la escuchen: “Hoy me fui a buscar una salida, no
quiero recuerdos tristes, ni nada que se marchite, solo un mensaje de amor que
dice…libre”. Con influencias de vallenato, el acordeón aporta un
sentimiento agridulce a esta canción fascinante.
Dirigido por el talentoso cubano
Yeandro Tamayo, el video muestra el ambiente auténtico de su natal La Habana, e
incluye la participación de su abuela Aurora.
Diana Fuentes explica que
el título del disco es muy personal: “Literalmente fue un periodo que pasó
absolutamente de todo, y yo me di cuenta que todo lo que estaba pasando en ese
momento tenía un propósito, que era hacerme sentir una mujer, una persona
libre, que es la persona que soy hoy”.
Como ya es sello de la artista, su
nuevo disco trae una interesante amalgama musical, donde se fusionan la música
tradicional y popular de Cuba con los ritmos contemporáneos y modernos, para
crear propuestas únicas que son relevantes a las generaciones de hoy, con un
sonido actual nunca antes escuchado pero que a la vez rinde homenaje a sus
raíces culturales cubanas.
El álbum, producido por el ganador
del GRAMMY® y Latin GRAMMY® Eduardo Cabra, nos presenta además
colaboraciones con importantes artistas de la escena musical latinoamericana
como el brasileño Seu Jorge y el dominicanoVicente García, así como la
participación de importantes músicos y arreglistas legendarios como el
saxofonista cubano César López.
Libre también cuenta con
importantes aportes autorales de su madre, Mirta Lavastida. Diana
Fuentes afirma que el apoyo familiar ha sido clave para su desarrollo.
En el 2017, se desprendieron dos
sencillos de lo que llegaría a ser Libre – “La
Fortuna” junto al cantautor puertorriqueño Tommy Torres, y “La Vida Me
Cambió”, junto al dúo cubano Gente De Zona. Estos temas se
convirtieron en sutiles tesoros, alcanzando el puesto #29 en Latin Pop Songs y
#10 en Tropical Songs de Billboard, respectivamente. Además, “La
Fortuna” fue nominada a Canción del Año en la 18a Entrega Anual del
Latin GRAMMY®.
Sus primeros dos discos en solitario, Amargo
Pero Dulce (2008) y Planeta Planetario (2014), fueron
aclamados por la prensa especializada. Ahora esta cantante cubana que radica en
Miami sigue dándose a conocer con Libre, su álbum más
completo hasta la fecha.

MIAMI (April 12, 2019) – The
acclaimed Cuban singer and songwriter Diana Fuentes today
releases her third solo albumLibre, along with
the title-track single and video. This new material is available today on all
digital-music platforms fromSony Music Latin.
“Libre”
is a comforting song that speaks to everyone who’s going through a life change.
Tender and timeless, the lyrics of “Libre” will motivate its listeners.
As the verse (in Spanish) says: “Today I went looking for an exit, I don’t
want sad memories, nor anything that wilts, just a message of love that
says…‘free.’” Giving a bittersweet touch to this lovely song is the
vallenato-styled accordion.
Directed by
the talented Cuban Yeandro Tamayo, the music video portrays street scenes
from Diana’s native Havana and includes a cameo from her
grandmother, Aurora.
Diana Fuentes explains
that the album title is very personal: “It was recorded during a time when
so many things were happening to me at the same time. And I realized that this
was all happening for a reason – to make me feel like a free woman, a free
person, which is who I am today.”
This album
furthers her reputation for making satisfying amalgams of traditional Cuban
music with up-to-the-minute rhythms and themes, along with lyrics that speak to
young listeners.
Produced by
the multiple GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® winner Eduardo Cabra, Libre also
features creative collaborations with the Brazilian great Seu Jorge, the
Dominican singer and songwriter Vicente García, and the Cuban sax
legend César López.
Libre is a family
affair, with important songwriting contributions from her mother, Mirta
Lavastida. Diana Fuentes is convinced that family support has
been key to her growth.
We got a
preview of Libre in 2017, with two singles that are
included on the album – “La Fortuna,” featuring the Puerto Rican
singer-songwriter Tommy Torres, and “La Vida Me Cambió,” featuring the
Cuban duo Gente De Zona. These songs became low-key treasures,
discovered by enough listeners to chart at #29 on Billboard’s Latin
Pop Songs and #10 on Tropical Songs, respectively. Even better, “La Fortuna”
was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2017 Latin GRAMMYs®.
Her first two

discovered by dedicated music lovers and were critically acclaimed. Now, this
