La banda mundial de rock en rápido ascenso, Måneskin, presenta el nuevo y muy esperado video de su más reciente sencillo “Supermodel“.
Dirigido por Bedroom projects (The 1975) y Ben Chappell (Arctic Monkeys, Nine Inch Nails), el video cinematográfico muestra a la banda con un estilo Gucci protagonizando su propio guión para el exitoso sencillo ‘Supermodel’. Combinando elementos clásicos de Tarantino y Hitchcock, la banda captura perfectamente lo feroz que es la canción junto a su llamativa letra mientras se desarrolla una serie de eventos catastróficos.
Måneskin escribe: “Queríamos rendir homenaje a nuestras películas favoritas de los 90 en el video musical de Supermodel. Tratamos de capturar una vibra cinematográfica sobre un personaje enigmático en la pista y queríamos que se mostrara visualmente. Después de que tuvimos la idea, trabajamos de cerca con los directores y con Ben para recrear fotogramas y secuencias de nuestras películas favoritas de los 90. Nos divertimos mucho filmando escenas que nos recordaron a una película de detectives de cine B”.
Bedroom comenta: “El video de Måneskin fue un proyecto que se inspiró en referencias de una mezcla de películas de los 90 como ‘Corre Lola Corre’, ‘Perros de Reserva’, así como también ‘Hitchcock’ y un poco de Hollywood en lo años de 1950. El macguffin del monedero misterioso fue algo sacado de Marnie o Pulp fiction. Filmado en Super 16”.
“Este video surgió después de una semana de estar sentados alrededor de la piscina en Los Ángeles con la banda hojeando las revistas Vogue de los 90 y hablando sobre nuestras películas favoritas de la misma época. Intentamos incluir varias referencias pequeñas como pudimos a lo largo del video”. Ben Chappell añade.

Sees fast rising global rock stars Måneskin unveil the highly anticipated new visual for their latest single “Supermodel“.
Directed by Bedroom projects (The 1975) and Ben Chappell (Arctic Monkeys, Nine Inch Nails), the cinematic visual sees the Gucci-styled band cast in their own script for blockbuster single ‘Supermodel’. Combining classic elements of Tarantino and Hitchcock, the band perfectly captures the song’s fierce mood and playful lyrics as a series of catastrophic events unfold.
Måneskin writes, “We wanted to pay tribute to our favorite ‘90s movies in the Supermodel music video. We tried to capture a cinematic vibe about an enigmatic character in the track and we wanted the visual to reflect that. After we came up with the idea, we worked closely with the directors and Ben to recreate frame shots and sequences from our favorite 90s films. We had so much fun filming scenes that reminded us of a detective B-movie.”
Bedroom comments, “The Måneskin video was a project that was inspired by the references of a mixture of 90s films like Run Lola Run, Reservoir Dogs, as well as, Hitchcock and a bit of 1950s Hollywood. The macguffin of the mysterious purse was something out of Marnie or Pulp fiction. Shot on Super 16.”
“This video came about after a week of sitting around the pool in LA with the band thumbing through 90s Vogue magazines and talking about our favorite 90s movies. We tried to sneak in as many small references as we could throughout the video.” Ben Chappell adds.
Produced with pop prodigy Max Martin and his team, ‘Supermodel’ is a California-soaked rock anthem, loosely based on characters they met during their time in LA. “You want to hang out with this supermodel, but you might get in trouble. It’s like cigarettes: you love them but you know they’re gonna fucking kill you.” the band described in their newly unveiled NME Big Read cover interview.
Following on the heels of Måneskin’s recent Billboard Music Award win for Top Rock Song of the Year, “Supermodel” is quickly following the same trajectory onto the airwaves of U.S. Rock Radio – just debuting as the top new entry on Billboard’s “Alternative Airplay” chart. To further demonstrate the song’s allure, the band recently performed its U.S. TV debut on The Tonight Show, with Jimmy Fallon actually joining in with the band. Not only has the clip become one of the most watched recent videos on the program’s YouTube page, quickly notching over 1 million views, but it has already been scheduled for a repeat airing THIS WEEK on June 2.
