MELENDI “LIKES Y CICATRICES”
MIAMI (3 de septiembre de 2021) – Melendi es de esos artistas con un filo especial. Su vena más ácida, esa que imprime calado a sus canciones, irrumpe con fuerza en “Likes y cicatrices”, su nuevo tema, un sencillo en forma de parodia de la tiranía del Me gusta en las redes sociales. Con el sentido del humor que le caracteriza, pero con toda la trascendencia de un fenómeno de sobrado alcance social.
Detrás de cada Me gusta hay una cicatriz. Esa es la idea central de un tema que se convierte en el segundo adelanto de su próximo álbum, que llevará por título precisamente Likes y cicatrices. Llegará a finales de año y será un hito significativo en su carrera, después del lanzamiento en noviembre de 2020 de 10:20:40, su último trabajo hasta la fecha, con el que debutó en el número 1 en listas de ventas en España.
“Porque quién soy yo, desde mi escritorio, cuando mi gurú me dice que un “view” vale más que cinco años de conservatorio”, canta Melendi en su nueva canción, que anima a ampliar el ángulo de nuestra mirada para disfrutar sin ambages de la vida. Es un tema irónico y sin prejuicios, una receta clásica en el artista asturiano. También es especial el vídeo que lo acompaña, realizado con papiroflexia, que le sirve para ilustrar a la perfección la materia de la canción.
Es, en definitiva, un adelanto singular, porque anticipa el concepto sobre el que girará su próximo álbum y contiene esa dualidad habitual en su repertorio. “Likes y cicatrices” llega apenas un mes después del estreno de “La boca junta” con el dúo Mau y Ricky, primer adelanto de su nuevo trabajo. El tema, que ha dado lugar a un divertido videojuego inspirado en el vídeo de la canción, ha causado auténtico furor entre sus fans.
Consolidado como una de las figuras más importantes del panorama musical de España en los últimos tiempos, el asturiano se ha destacado desde sus inicios como un creador de himnos que forman parte de la historia reciente de la música en español. A lo largo de sus 20 años de trayectoria, con millones de testigos de su directo y miles de millones de reproducciones en plataformas digitales, Melendi ha publicado un total de 10 álbumes de estudio y sumado 16 discos de platino.

MELENDI “LIKES Y CICATRICES”
MIAMI (September 3, 2021) – Melendi is one of those artists that are unique. His most sharp vein, the one that leaves a mark on his songs, strongly emerges in the new “Likes y cicatrices”, a single that parodies the tyranny of likes on social networks. Here he draws on his characteristic sense of humor, but never loses sight of the significance of a phenomenon of far-reaching impact.
There’s a scar behind each like. This is the central idea of the second song released in advance of his upcoming album, also titled Likes y cicatrices. The album is set for release by the end of this year and marks a significant milestone in his career, following his 2020 effort 10:20:40, which debuted at No.1 on the charts in Spain.
“Who am I, from my desk, when my guru says to me that a view is worth more than five years at the music conservatory”, sings Melendi in his new song, which encourages us to widen our vision angle to go out there and enjoy life. It is an ironic and unprejudiced song, a classic formula used by the Asturias-born artist. Also special is the origami-made video, perfectly illustrating the subject of the song.
It is, in the end, a remarkable advance as it anticipates the concept on which his new album will be based and showcases the landmark duality on his repertoire. “Likes y cicatrices” comes hot off the heels of “La boca junta” with Mau y Ricky, the lead single off his new album. The song, which has inspired a fun videogame based on the music video of the song, was a sensation among his fans.
Established as one of the most important figures in the recent music scene in Spain, the Asturias-born artist has stood out as a creator of anthems which are now part of the recent history of the music in Spanish.
