OBIE BERMÚDEZ estrena su nuevo sencillo y video “VEO VEO”
En medio del período de distanciamiento social por la pandemia mundial del Covid-19, Obie Bermúdez se dispone a compartir con sus fans de manera virtual, en vivo por su canal de YouTube este sábado 11 de abril, a las 8:00pm ET
MIAMI (10 de abril de 2020) – El cantautor Obie Bermúdez anunció hoy el estreno de su sencillo “Veo Veo”, acompañado del vídeo realizado en su natal Puerto Rico. El nuevo tema distribuido por Sony Music Latin ya está disponible en todas las plataformas de música digital, al igual que el videoclip en su canal de YouTube.
La canción es una composición de Obie, inspirada en el popular juego “Veo veo”, pero de corte tropical con un toque urbano y resaltando su esencia. Es una producción en conjunto con Derry Sánchez, Alexander Rangel (Abbel), Andrés Gaarn y Andry Leal.
“Habla de cuando tú ves una persona que te gusta y empiezas a mirarla. Todo comienza con un coqueteo, intercambiando de miradas. Cuando estás en esa primera relación, se gustan, se miran, se intercambian teléfono… ¡Es ese primer jueguito antes de que cualquier otra cosa pase!”, explicó sobre la letra.
El proceso creativo de Obie comienza siempre en su hogar, en esta ocasión, fue mientras compartía con “mis dos princesas”. El vocalista fue desarrollando poco a poco su línea de inspiración, porque “esto se trata, de conectar con la gente… de vestir las ideas para luego presentar la melodía al público”.
Obie percibió el tema desde su punto de vista como cantautor, “con un sonido diferente, pero fresco. Llegué a un punto medio… Con ‘Veo veo’ encontré algo nuevo coqueteando con esos sonidos y la música”.
El sencillo en promoción cuenta con la participación de la cantante urbana Leisley, con quien Obie conectó de inmediato.
“Me gustó mucho su estilo. Además, la idea de hacer un ‘featuring’ con otra mujer lo vi como algo nuevo. Leisley es una artista súper talentosa. Su estilo de voz se acopla muy bien con el mío”, destacó. Esta es la segunda colaboración musical de Obie Bermúdez con una fémina, porque la primera fue con su esposa, la vocalista Jennifer Peña.
La filmación del vídeo de “Veo Veo” se llevó a cabo en la zona de Piñones (Loíza), donde aparece el vocalista pendiente de una chica en medio de un juego de seducción. Esta es la tercera vez que usa su país como escenario.
Los atractivos paisajes de la Isla son cómplices de la historia del videoclip de “Veo Veo”. “Es el primero que grabo medio tropical, donde se puede apreciar que estoy en mi tierra. Hay playa, fiesta, color… En el vídeo estoy pendiente de una chica y todo queda en un coqueteo, en ese ‘Veo veo’…”, comentó.
Obie Bermúdez se mantiene activo creando su música y complementa esa faceta con la actuación, porque ha hecho teatro y recientemente cine. “Vengo jugando con la idea y a través de los vídeos uno actúa, pero estas dos son las primeras que hago para cine con personajes de peso. Me enorgullece mucho tener la oportunidad de hacer cine en mi país”, dijo, refiriéndose a las películas “La última gira” (inspirada en la vida del cantautor puertorriqueño Daniel Santos) y “Al revés”.

During This Period Of Social Distancing, Obie Bermúdez Will Be Performing A Live Streaming Concert On April 11 At 8pm ET Via His YouTube Channel
MIAMI (April 10, 2020) – The singer-songwriter Obie Bermúdez today announces the release of his song “Veo Veo” (I Spy), accompanied by a music video filmed in his native Puerto Rico. This single, distributed by Sony Music Latin, is available from all digital-music platforms, while the music video can be enjoyed on his YouTube channel.
Written by Obie himself, this song features his welcoming voice, along with tropical arrangements dappled with urban influences. He produced this song with Derry Sánchez, Alexander Rangel (Abbel), Andrés Gaarn and Andry Leal.
Obie says that “Veo Veo” is about the initial chemistry that can exist between two people: “It talks about when you see a person you find attractive and you start to look at her. It all begins with a little flirtation, a shared glance. When you are interacting for the first time, feeling attracted, exchanging numbers, it’s the first spark before anything else happens!.”
The creative process that he follows always starts in his home, in this case as he spent time with his two daughters. He worked diligently on fleshing out his idea, because “that’s what it’s about – connecting with people, putting meat on the bones and then sharing the tune with your audience.”
As a singer-songwriter, Obie also wanted the song to have “a different, but fresh sound. I found a happy medium. With ‘Veo Veo’ I achieved something new by experimenting with these sounds and the music.”
Also singing on this track is the emerging urban singer Leisley, with whom Obie connected immediately. “I really like her style. Also, releasing a single where I collaborate with a female vocalist was different for me. Leisley is extremely talented and her voice blends very well with mine,” he points out. This is only his second duet with a female vocalist, the first being with his wife, the renowned artist Jennifer Peña.
The video of “Veo Veo” was filmed in the beautiful coastal area of Loiza, Piñones, Puerto Rico. Obie stars in this story about a game of seduction. This is the third video that he has shot in his native Isla del Encanto.
The gorgeous scenery plays a part in the story. “This is my first video with a tropical setting, where it’s clear that I’m in my homeland. It’s about the beach, the party, color…I’m playing a guy who is chasing a girl and the vibe is flirtatious, in that ‘I spy’ kind of way.”
Obie Bermúdez is also a stage actor and most recently has acted on the silver screen. “I’ll be playing around with an idea and of course you act in the music videos, but now I’m doing substantive roles in the movies and I’m proud to be making Puerto Rican cinema.” He has appeared in “La Última Gira”, about the life of the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Daniel Santos, and “Al Revés”.
