Los íconos de la música harán historia al presentarse juntos por primera vez en vivo como parte del 20 Aniversario de la Entrega Anual del Latin GRAMMY® este jueves, 14 de noviembre por Univision
MIAMI (12 de noviembre de 2019) – El artista global, ganador de tres Latin GRAMMY® y dos GRAMMY®, Ricky Martin regresa al ámbito musical con su explosivo sencillo “Cántalo,” junto a los reconocidos y galardonados artistas, compositores y productores puertorriqueños Residente y Bad Bunny. El tan esperado estreno fue hoy a través de Sony Music Latin y ya se encuentra disponible en todas las plataformas digitales.
Inspirado en el emblemático tema “Mi Gente” de la leyenda de la salsa Héctor Lavoe, “Cántalo,” hace homenaje a la rica cultura musical Latina fusionando diferentes géneros como la salsa, el pop afrolatino, el jazz, reggaetón y bossa nova, entre otros, e inspira a la unión de la raza humana sin importar religión, estatus social o color de bandera, mismo mensaje que Ricky, Residente y Bad Bunny recalcan constantemente a través de sus plataformas.
“Cántalo” tiene una historia fascinante, empezando con que La Fania me entregó los masters de ‘Mi Gente’ para trabajar en esta canción, lo cual es una responsabilidad muy grande y que me infla el corazón de orgullo.” expresó Ricky sobre el proceso creativo. “Siento que la inspiración vino de esta ola de ancestros que tienen una necesidad de comunicar algo y nosotros simplemente abrimos los canales para que pudiesen manifestarse de la forma que ellos lo necesitaban.”
“La colaboración de esta canción sigue mostrando la unión a través de la música y dentro de un círculo de diferentes generaciones que representan nuestra cultura y patrimonio“, compartió Residente.”Producir esta canción y tener la confianza de Ricky y Fania para mezclar todos los elementos de esta canción fue un honor para mí. En general fue una experiencia increíble integrar ‘Mi Gente,’ una canción con una rica historia desde su creación en Africa hasta su impacto global.”
“Cántalo” fue compuesta por Ricky Martin, Residente, Bad Bunny, Danay Suarez, Rubén Blades y Johnny Pacheco y grabada en la ciudad de Los Ángeles bajo la producción de Residente y Trooko.
“Yo siempre he querido unir generaciones a través de mi música y tengo que darle mucho crédito a Residente, un gran productor y letrista y por supuesto a Bad Bunny, la cara fresca del género y una persona que siendo muy joven tiene cosas muy importantes que decir. Tenemos muchas cosas en común y de allí es que nace la magia. Estoy realmente emocionado de haber podido colaborar con artistas tan talentosos y especiales como ellos” dijo Ricky.
Como parte del aniversario de la Academia Latina de la Grabación®, Ricky, Residente y Bad Bunny harán historia al presentar en vivo “Cántalo,” por primera vez juntos, en la Entrega Anual del Latin GRAMMY® que se trasmitirá en vivo el 14 de noviembre de 8–11 p.m. Este/Pacífico (7 p.m. Centro) desde el MGM Grand Garden Arena en Las Vegas por la Cadena Univision.
Además de la esperada presentación, Ricky será el conductor de la ceremonia del Latin GRAMMY® acompañado por las actrices de renombre internacional Roselyn Sánchez y Paz Vega.

The Music Icons Will Make History By Performing “Cántalo” In Their First Ever Live Performance Together As Part Of The 20th Anniversary Of The Latin GRAMMY® Awards This Thursday, November 14 On Univision
MIAMI (November 12, 2019) – Global recording artist and winner of multiple Latin GRAMMY® and GRAMMY® Awards, Ricky Martin debuts his explosive new single “Cántalo” (Sing it) with Residente and Bad Bunny. The long awaited single was released today via Sony Music Latin and it is now available across all digital platforms.
Inspired by the emblematic song “Mi Gente” from Salsa legend Héctor Lavoe, “Cántalo,” pays homage to the vibrant Latin musical culture by merging different genres such as salsa, afro-Latin pop, jazz, reggaeton and bossa nova, among others. The lyrics encourage unity and acceptance regardless of race, religion, social status, or nationality. The same message that Ricky, Residente, and Bad Bunny consistently promote through their platforms.
“Cántalo” has a fascinating back story, beginning with La Fania giving me the master recording of “Mi Gente” to work on this song, which is a huge responsibility, and one that fills my heart with pride.” Ricky expressed about the creative process. “I feel the inspiration came from this wave of ancestors who needed to communicate something, and we simply opened the channels so that they could express themselves in the way they needed to.”
“The collaboration of this song continues to show unity through music and within a circle of different generations representing our culture, and heritage,” shared Residente. “Producing this song and having the trust of Ricky and Fania to blend all of the elements of this song was an honor for me. But, overall it was an incredible experience to integrate ‘Mi Gente,’ a song with rich history from the making of it in Africa to its global impact.“
“Cántalo” was recorded in Los Angeles. It was written by Ricky Martin, Residente, Bad Bunny, Danay Suárez, Rubén Blades, and Johnny Pacheco, under Residente and Trooko’s production.
“I’ve always wanted to unite people through my music, and with the help of Residente, an extraordinary producer and lyricist, and Bad Bunny, the fresh face of this generation, who, although young, has an extremely important voice, we created something very magical and I’m grateful and excited to have collaborated with such talented people” Ricky said.
As part of the 20th anniversary of the Latin Recording Academy®, Ricky, Residente, and Bad Bunny, will be performing “Cántalo” live, for the first time at the Latin GRAMMY Awards® to be broadcast on Univision live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 14 from 8–11 PM ET/PT (7 PM Central).
In addition, Ricky will also host the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards® alongside acclaimed actresses Roselyn Sánchez, and Paz Vega.
