C. TANGANA viaja a brasil con “COMERTE ENTERA” una bossa nova en colaboración con TOQUINHO

MIAMI (15 de enero de 2021) – C. Tangana nunca va a dejar de sorprendernos, podría haber escogido el camino fácil, el de repetir la jugada maestra y el éxito de “Demasiadas Mujeres” y “Tú Me Dejaste De Querer” con otro sencillo que homenajea y a la vez renueva el imaginario castizo español. Pero no, “Comerte Entera” va por otro lado. Como esos regalos que no sabes que deseabas tanto hasta que los desenvuelves, el tercer adelanto de su muy esperado álbum El Madrileño es unabossa nova. Bueno, es y no es, porque C. Tangana revisa todos los géneros de la música popular del Siglo XX pero desde una óptica absolutamente contemporánea. “Comerte Entera” es el primer visado musical en otra latitud de El Madrileño, en este caso Brasil. Tras dos años recorriendo todo el planeta, C. Tangana empieza a enseñarnos lo que se ha llevado con él de todos esos viajes. “Comerte Entera” ya está disponible en todas las plataformas digitales.
Para este sencillo, C. Tangana reclutó al propio Toquinho para ponerle su toque especial a la voz y a la guitarra. Una colaboración de leyenda, insólita e imprevisible a la que C. Tangana confiere una capa de barniz actual gracias a la rutilante producción del siempre visionario y frecuente colaborador, Alizzz, y Víctor Fernández, un multi-instrumentalista clave para el proyecto de El Madrileño. En este tema C. Tangana hace suya la bossa, la sensualidad alrededor de una letra sobre minas perigosas y hasta la saudade. En realidad, la seductora melancolía de “Comerte Entera” no es tan distinta a la de “Nunca Estoy”, “Demasiadas Mujeres” o “Tú Me Dejaste De Querer”. Con C. Tangana, incluso lo inesperado tiene su lógica. Sin dudas la combinación entre “Comerte Entera” y los iconos de la música popular española se mantienen presentes en esta interpretación.
El video de “Comerte Entera” cambia el sol, las caipirinhas y la arena de playa por la arquitectura de hormigón de la Casa Carvajal, las afueras del Palacio Real en invierno y un cocido en Restaurante Lhardy. Porque la colección de imágenes de este vídeo musical, otro triunfo en colaboración con Santos Bacana y la productora Little Spain, tampoco estaba en ninguna apuesta: C. Tangana en la cocina cortando ajo con una cuchilla de afeitar (como en la película “Uno De Los Nuestros”), monjas en segway y Bárbara Lennie como femme fatale distrayendo a los señores del puro de una comida de negocios. De nuevo, otra decisión creativa impredecible. Llamémosle alergia a la obviedad o llamémosle simpatía por lo desconocido. Todo el camino que lleva a El Madrileño es un elogio del asombro. Pero, al final, si C. Tangana no deja de sorprendernos es porque él tampoco quiere dejar de sorprenderse a sí mismo como artista.

MIAMI (January 15, 2021) – As he asserts himself as a groundbreaking figure in Latin music, C. Tangana continues to push the boundaries of what it means to create music that is not only imaginative in nature, but also in sound. Following in the footsteps of the progressive and lasting success of his first two singles “Demasiadas Mujeres” and “Tú Me Dejaste De Querer,” which peaked at #83 on the Billboard’s Global 200 chart, the artist known as El Madrileño demonstrates another facet of his artistry with his latest single “Comerte Entera.” This is the third single off of his highly anticipated album El Madrileño and is available now to stream on all digital platforms.
The single, a collaboration with the Brazilian legend Toquinho, seeks to not only honor his Spanish heritage, but marks an important stop in Rio De Janeiro on the musical voyage Tangana is embarking on with his forthcoming album. C. Tangana enlisted the help of the iconic Brazilian musician so that he would lend his special touch to the guitar heard throughout the song along with soft vocalizations that can be heard as well. An unpredictable collaboration, to which C. Tangana gives a layer of contemporary varnish, thanks to the brilliant production of the always visionary and frequent collaborator, Alizzz, and of Víctor Fernández, a key multi-instrumentalist for the Madrileño’s project. With a lyrical sensuality that only Tangana can portray, “Comerte Entera” exhibits how, with respect and expertise, he can simultaneously pay homage to traditional artists from other hemispheres and create something entirely new, like the work of Spanish rumba singer El Pescaílla, who was known for his re-interpretations of bossa nova classics.
The song’s accompanying video exchanges the sun, caipirinhas, and sandy beaches for the traditional and regal architecture of Casa Carvajal, The Royal Palace of Madrid in the wintertime, and a meal at Restaurante Lhardy. The collective imagery presented in the video proves to be another triumph of Santos Bacana, Little Spain, and C. Tangana. In it, C. Tangana can be seen paying an homage to the film “Uno De Los Nuestros” (Goodfellas) while cutting garlic with a razor blade as well as Bárbara Lennie portraying the role of femme fatale. This video and song not only prove that El Madrileño is a creative force to reckon with, but that he will always look to keep fans and lovers of the genre on their toes when it comes to what is next with his music.
