MIAMI (2 de marzo de 2022) – El ícono global de la música y múltiple ganador del Latin GRAMMY®, Carlos Vives, se une por primera vez a su compatriota ganador de múltiples Latin GRAMMY® y uno de los artistas más aclamados de la música latina hoy día, Camilo. Su colaboración titulada “Baloncito Viejo” los reúne por primera vez para crear una canción que combina los sonidos característicos de Colombia que Vives siempre incluye en sus producciones y el romanticismo de ambos artistas. Lanzado a través de Sony Music Latin, el tema ya está disponible en todas las plataformas de música digitales.
“Baloncito Viejo” estuvo bajo la producción de Carlos Vives, Andrés Leal y Martín Velilla, y fue compuesto por Carlos Vives y Camilo, junto al nominado al Latin GRAMMY®, Jorge Luis Chacín, Andrés Leal y Martín Velilla.
En la canción y el video musical, Vives y Camilo expresan la metáfora del amor a través del fútbol en donde utilizan el ‘baloncito viejo’ como símbolo del amor y la importancia de jugarlo de forma responsable para no lastimar al otro. “Si no te entregas en serio, si no es un amor completo, por dónde vienes te vas / Si vas a tirarme lejos, como un baloncito viejo / Entonces no juego más”, dice un extracto de la canción.
Bajo la dirección de Felipe Montoya/Sergio Ramírez para Mestiza Films y la dirección creativa de Carlos Vives, el video musical se grabó en Miami. Viajando en el tiempo en una historia desarrollada en un club deportivo del siglo XIX, el video se inspira en la estética, el vestuario y la escenografía de producciones tales como The English Game. En el video los artistas juegan fútbol, el juego de pelota que los ingleses consolidaron y llevaron a todas partes del mundo, en donde realizan un duelo para jugarse por el amor de la protagonista a medida que el juego está en proceso. El protagonista, interpretado por Lucca Pietro, juega en el equipo contrario a los artistas, y el partido es una representación de lo que sucede en el amor, en donde a veces se gana y a veces se pierde, donde la lucha es incansable y se sueña con el momento de la victoria: estar con la persona que deseas.

MIAMI (March 2, 2022) – Global music icon and 15-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Carlos Vives joins forces for the first time with fellow Colombian multiple Latin GRAMMY® winner, and one of today’s most acclaimed Latin music artists, Camilo. Their collaboration titled “Baloncito Viejo” brings the two Colombians together to create a song that combines the romanticism and traditional Colombian sounds, trademark to Vives’ musical style. Released under Sony Music Latin, the song is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
“Baloncito Viejo” was produced by Carlos Vives, Andrés Leal, and Martín Velilla, and was composed by Carlos Vives and Camilo, alongside Latin GRAMMY® nominee, Jorge Luis Chacín, Andrés Leal and Martín Velilla.
In the song, Vives and Camilo express love through a soccer metaphor where they use the “baloncito viejo” (old ball) as a symbol of love and the importance of playing responsibly to avoid hurting the other person. “If you don’t give yourself to me seriously, if it’s not true love, where did you come from? / If you’re going to throw me away, like an old ball / Then, I don’t want to play anymore,” says part of the song.
Under the direction of Felipe Montoya and Sergio Ramírez for Mestiza Films and the creative direction of Carlos Vives, the music video was shot in Miami. Traveling through time in a story set in a 19th century sports club, the video draws inspiration from the aesthetics, costumes and set design of productions such as The English Game. In the music video, the artists play soccer, the game that the English people took around the world, where they duel for the love of the woman through the game. The lead character plays against both Vives’ and Camilo, and the game represents what happens in love, where sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Where you dream of victory, which is ending up with the person you love.
