FONSECA estrena nuevo álbum AGUSTÍN
Disponible ya en todas las plataformas digitales
MIAMI (9 de noviembre, 2018) – El tan esperado nuevo álbum del cantautor colombiano y ganador de cinco Latin GRAMMY® Fonseca, está disponible hoy vía Sony Music Latin.
El nombre de la producción originalmente iba a llevar el título de uno de los temas incluidos en el proyecto, pero cuando el artista se enteró de que el nacimiento de su hijo estaba previsto para la misma semana de la salida del álbum, decidió llamarlo Agustín en honor a uno de los momentos más especiales que vive en estos momentos. Agustín es un homenaje a la vida unida a otro de los grandes regalos que le ha brindado el universo: la música.
Fonseca comenta: “Me encantó esta manera de construir el disco y una vez más me di el gusto de hacer un álbum ecléctico, dejándome llevar por mi instinto y tomando elementos prestados que fui encontrando en el camino de otros géneros para incorporarlos a mi sonido. Siempre con mi esencia por delante”.
Con el acordeón de vallenato y los ritmos del reggaetón-pop que se han convertido en un lenguaje universal en estos tiempos, con letras apasionadas y altamente poéticas, Agustín cuenta con 16 temas (10 de ellas producidas por Fonseca) junto a 11 maravillosos productores: Andrés Torres (Colombia), Andy Clay (Cuba), Edgar Barrera (México), Fernando Belisario (Venezuela), Iker Gastaminza (Venezuela), Jon Leone (USA), Juan Andrés Otálora (Colombia), Julio Reyes C. (Colombia), Mario Cáceres (Venezuela), Mauricio Rengifo (Colombia), Yadam González (Cuba).
Sobre la amplia gama de talento que formó parte del grupo de productores, Fonseca añade: “Esta es la primera vez en mi carrera que cuento con tantas colaboraciones en el marco de la producción. Empecé a escribir con distintos compositores y me encontré con que eran grandes productores. Fue una experiencia completamente diferente a lo que había hecho en discos anteriores”.
Eso queda palpado en esta nueva producción que llega en un momento mágico para Fonseca y muestra su amplia capacidad para incorporar vertientes musicales, sin perder su esencia.
“Como Enamoraban Antes” es una mezcla de melancolía, percusión, nostalgia y baile y nace de una frase que la abuela de Edgar Barrera (compositor en la canción) le repite constantemente.
Unos temas contienen sonidos refrescantes y otros son realmente íntimos y personales como lo es “Ven”, un regreso al sonido sinfónico que le otorgara un Latin GRAMMY® y en el cual se une nuevamente con Juan Andrés Otálora, arreglista de ese pasado álbum junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia. En esta oportunidad “Ven” fue grabado junto a Fame’s Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra y Fonseca lo considera el tema más personal del disco.
En “Paso a Paso”, un sueño se convierte en realidad al juntarse a una de las exponentes femeninas del rock en español más celebrada de estos tiempos: Ana Torroja -quien fue miembro del grupo español Mecano.
“Paso a Paso” fue producida por Fonseca y Fernando Belisario. Mecano ha sido una de sus grandes influencias y al respecto elabora: “Siempre me llamó la atención lo teatral de su propuesta musical y definitivamente “Paso a Paso” le hace un homenaje a eso. Hace un par de años se me dio la oportunidad de conocer a Ana Torroja en México durante un concierto en el Zócalo al que me invitó a cantar Miguel Bosé. Le hablé sobre mi admiración por su música. Cuando estábamos produciendo “Paso a Paso” pensé en ella para la canción. Le escribí un mensaje directo por Twitter contándole la historia y haciéndole la invitación a participar. Ana me respondió muy amablemente, le envié la canción y le encantó. Para mí es un orgullo inmenso tenerla como invitada en Agustín”.
Otra inesperada colaboración es “Que Se Vaya Contigo” feat. Kinky. Para Fonseca tener a Kinky como invitados “es un lujo”. “Siempre he admirado la fuerza de su música y de sus mensajes. Me siento muy honrado de haber logrado con ellos esta mezcla”.
“Que Tú Estés Conmigo” es una canción muy especial con una manera muy particular de decir las cosas y es una canción con mucha personalidad.
Para la creación de “Solo Contigo”, Fonseca escribió junto a Pututi (Angel Arce) y también produjo el tema Julio Reyes Copello. “Solo Contigo”, lleva toda esa influencia antillana que siempre ha tenido junto con esa gran admiración por la música de Juan Luis Guerra y contiene elementos mezclados con el acordeón y la percusión que siempre han sido parte de su sonido.
Algunas de las canciones de Agustín que se han lanzado como sencillos en los últimos meses, convirtiéndose ya en grandes éxitos incluyen: “Simples Corazones” en versión original (escrita por Fonseca, Andrés Torres y Mauricio Rengifo) con un remix especial ft. Melendi, “Por Pura Curiosidad” versión original y remix con Spencer Ludwig, (escrita por Mario Cáceres) y donde Fonseca leda un giro nuevo a su voz para cantarle al amor en un homenaje a la curiosidad, “Porque Nadie Sabe” con el intérprete argentino Nahuel Pennisi (escrita y producida por Julio Reyes Copello.), “Cuando Llego a Casa” y el más reciente, “Volver a Verte,” con Cali & El Dandee.
Fonseca, Andrés Torres y Mauricio Rengifo, son autores de los temas “Volver a Verte” y “1001 Noches”. Los cortes que ya fueron lanzados como sencillos sobrepasan 120 millones de vistas en YouTube, cifra que aumenta diariamente, aún antes del lanzamiento de Agustín.
Agustín llega lleno de bendiciones para Fonseca tanto a nivel personal como profesional. El tema “Simples Corazones” está nominado a un Latin GRAMMY® 2018 en la categoría de “Mejor Canción Tropical”.

MIAMI (November 9, 2018) – The long-awaited new album by the Colombian singer-songwriter and winner of five Latin GRAMMYs® Fonseca is available now under Sony Music Latin.
The name of the new production was originally going to bear the title of one of the songs included in the project, but when the artist learned that the birth of his son was scheduled for the same week of the release of the album, he decided to name his new project after his son Agustín in honor of this most special moment. Agustín is: a tribute to life interlaced with one of the great gifts that the universe has given him: music.
Fonseca comments, “I really enjoyed the process of this album. I allowed myself to get carried away by my instinct and decided to borrow elements that I found in the other genres and incorporated them with the essence of my sound. The result is an eclectic album”.
With the vallenato accordion and the rhythms of reggaetón-pop that have become a universal language in the current times, and passionate, highly poetic lyrics, Agustín includes 16 songs (10 of them produced by Fonseca) along with 11 wonderful producers: Andrés Torres (Colombia), Andy Clay (Cuba), Edgar Barrera (Mexico), Fernando Belisario (Venezuela), Iker Gastaminza (Venezuela), Jon Leone (USA), Juan Andrés Otálora (Colombia), Julio Reyes C. (Colombia) , Mario Cáceres (Venezuela), Mauricio Rengifo (Colombia), Yadam González (Cuba).
With the wide range of talent that was part of the group of producers, Fonseca adds, “This is the first time in my career that I have so many collaborations in the production.” I started writing with different composers and I found that they were also great producers. It was a completely different experience than what I had done on previous albums.”
That is evident in this new production that comes at a magical moment for Fonseca and shows its full capacity to incorporate musical traits, without losing its essence.
“Como Enamoraban Antes” (How you fell in love before) is a mixture of melancholy, percussion, nostalgia and dance and is born of a phrase that the grandmother of Edgar Barrera (composer of the song) repeats constantly.
Some of the tracks contain refreshing sounds and others are really intimate and personal as it is “Ven” (Come to me), a return to the symphonic sound that won him a Latin GRAMMY® and in which he joins forces again with Juan Andrés Otálora, arranger of the last album with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia. On this occasion “Ven” was recorded with Fame’s Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra and Fonseca considers it the most personal song on the album.
In “Paso a Paso” (Step by Step), a dream becomes reality by joining one of the most celebrated female singers of Spanish rock: Ana Torroja – member of the former Spanish group Mecano.
“Paso a Paso” was produced by Fonseca and Fernando Belisario. Mecano has been one of his great influences. He explains, “I was always struck by the theatrical nature of their musical proposal and “Paso a Paso” makes a tribute to that. A couple of years ago I was given the opportunity to meet Ana Torroja in Mexico during a concert at the Zocalo where Miguel Bosé invited me to sing, I told her about my admiration for her music and when we were producing “Paso a Paso” I thought of her for the song. I wrote her a direct message on Twitter telling her the story and I invited her to participate, Ana answered back very kindly. So I sent her the song and she loved it. It gives me immense pride to have her as a guest in Agustín“.
Another unexpected collaboration is “Que Se Vaya Contigo” featuring Kinky. For Fonseca, having Kinky as guests is a luxury. “I have always admired the vigor and the messages of their music, and is a big deal to be able to finally work with them,” says Fonseca.
“Que Tú Estés Conmigo” (That you are with me) is a very special song with a lot of personality and very particular way of phrasing.
For the creation of “Solo Contigo” (Only With You), produced by Julio Reyes Capello, Fonseca wrote with Pututi (Angel Arce). “Solo Contigo” carries all the Caribbean influence that shows Fonseca’s great admiration for the music of Juan Luis Guerra and contains elements of its iconic accordion and percussion that distinguishes the Caribbean sound.
Some of Agustin‘s songs that have been released as singles in recent months, and are currently hits include: “Simples Corazones” (Simple Hearts) in original version (written by Fonseca, Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo) with a special remix featuring Melendi, “Por Pura Curiosidad” (Pure Curiosity) with an original version and remix with Spencer Ludwig, (written by Mario Cáceres) where Fonseca gives a new twist to his voice to sing to love in a tribute to curiosity, “Porque Nadie Sabe” (Because Nobody Knows) with the Argentine interpreter Nahuel Pennisi (written and produced by Julio Reyes Copello), “Cuando Llego a Casa” (When I Get Home) and the most recent, “Volver a Verte,” (To See You Again) with Cali & El Dandee.
Fonseca, Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, are authors of the tracks “Volver a Verte” (See You Again) and “1001 Noches” (1001 Nights). The songs that have already been released as singles surpass 120 million views on YouTube, a figure that increases daily, even before the release of Agustín.
Agustin arrives full of blessings for Fonseca both personally and professionally. The song “Simples Corazones” is nominated for a Latin GRAMMY® 2018 in the category of “Best Tropical Song”.
