KANY GARCÍA revela el título y la fecha de lanzamiento de su sexto álbum de estudio CONTRA EL VIENTO disponible a partir del 17 de mayo
MIAMI (22 de abril, 2019) – La
renombrada cantante y compositora puertorriqueña Kany García interactuó
hoy con sus seguidores a través de las redes sociales para revelar el título y
la fecha de su sexto álbum de estudio. Contra El Viento se
lanzará el 17 de mayo en formato físico y digital con una propuesta bien
definida.
Así como dice Kany:
“Caminar contra el viento genera algo maravilloso porque lo que mueve
tus pies no es generado por otra fuerza que no seas tú mismo. Que este álbum
sea refugio para todo aquel que quiera remar con la valentía delante“.
El primer sencillo de este disco se titula “Quédate” y es una colaboración con su coterráneo Tommy Torres. De la autoría de Kany y Tommy, esta balada acústica trae toda la magia y la química que existe entre estos dos talentosos artistas quienes son amigos entrañables.
Filmado en Miami por el director
Joaquín Cambre (Fito Páez, Romeo Santos, Calle 13)
y protagonizado por los mismos intérpretes, el video oficial de “Quédate” ha
superado los 20 millones de vistas en YouTube.
Contra El Viento también
cuenta con la participación de otras grandes estrellas de la música latina – la
galardonada cantante y compositora mexicana Natalia Lafourcade, y
el virtuoso del rock argentino Fito Páez.
Otro artista sorprendente quien forma parte de esta gran producción discográfica es el consagrado cantautor español Joaquín Sabina. Él ofreció su talento como ilustrador a este proyecto, diseñando no solamente la portada de Contra El Viento sino también aportando otros dibujos al empaque del disco. De hecho, Tommy Torres recientemente afirmó que la admiración mutual que tienen él y Kany por Sabina es algo que fortalece su amistad.
Este martes, Kany García participará
en un panel de discusión con Pedro Capó, Beatriz Luengo y Sofía
Reyes sobre el futuro del pop en los tiempos de música urbana. El marco de esta
plática es Billboard Latin Music Week, gran evento que reúne a
las más grandes figuras de la industria de la música en Las Vegas.
Kany García actuará en vivo en
los Premios Billboard, evento que será transmitido en vivo el
jueves 25 de abril por Telemundo.
Kany empezó este año con
el pie derecho: sold out el 2 de febrero en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico y contó
con grandes artistas invitados como Natti Natasha, Pedro
Capó, Residente, y Tommy Torres. El concierto
fue grabado para un especial de HBO que saldrá al aire el 4 de octubre. Durante
el concierto, Kany y Tommy debutaron “Quédate“. Kanyregresará
al Coliseo el 19 de octubre para ofrecer otro concierto estelar.

MIAMI (April 22, 2019) – The
critically acclaimed Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Kany
García today took to social media to reveal the title and release date
of her sixth studio album. Contra El Viento will be
available May 17 in digital and physical formats.
As Kany puts it:
“Walking against the wind creates something marvelous, because the only
force moving your feet forward is your own. May this album be a refuge for
anyone who wants to keep rowing with bravery in the lead.”
The first single from this album is “Quédate“, a collaboration with her fellow Puerto Rican artist Tommy Torres. Written by Kany and Tommy, this acoustic-framed ballad brims with all the magic and chemistry shared by these gifted artists who are also close friends.

over 20 million views on YouTube.
In addition to Tommy Torres, other
guest artists offer up their talents on Contra El Viento –
the award-winning Mexican singer and songwriter Natalia Lafourcade and
Argentine rock virtuoso Fito Páez.
Another surprising contribution comes
from the iconic Spanish troubadour Joaquín Sabina, whose enthusiasm
for this project led him to design the record’s cover art and create several
illustrations for the album package. Interestingly, Tommy Torres recently noted
that he and Kany bonded over their mutual admiration for Sabina early
in their friendship.
This Tuesday, Kany García will
participate in a panel discussion with Pedro Capó, Beatriz Luengo
and Sofía Reyes about the future of Latin pop in the era of urban music. The
setting for this talk is Billboard Latin Music Week, a major
industry event in Las Vegas.
Kany García will also
perform at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be
telecast live on April 25 by Telemundo.
Kany kicked off
2019 on the right foot with her February 2 sold-out concert at the Coliseo de
Puerto Rico in San Juan, where she was joined by such guest artists as Natti
Natasha, Pedro Capó, Residente, and Tommy Torres!
The performance was filmed for an HBO special that will air on October 4. The
concert also marked Kany and Tommy’s live debut of “Quédate.” She will
return to the Coliseo on October 19 for another unforgettable concert.
Coming just one year after Soy
