La cantautora y ganadora del GRAMMY® iLe lanza su nuevo sencillo y video “TEMES”
“Temes”
presenta un sombrío cuestionamiento directo del machismo.
“Temes”
es una continuación a su sencillo “Odio” el cual fue lanzado el
pasado año. Una canción de protesta honrando un suceso histórico de su país
natal Puerto Rico.
“Temes” es el
preámbulo al lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum que se espera esté disponible para
esta primavera.
iLe se presenta el
16 de marzo en el Museo del Barrio de Nueva York como parte de la serie
Citywide de Carnegie Hall

MIAMI (6 de marzo del 2019) – iLe ha
lanzado su nuevo sencillo y video “Temes” disponible hoy en todas las plataformas
digitales.
“Temes” presenta un
cuestionamiento sombrío y directo del machismo. El video fue filmado en Puerto
Rico bajo la dirección de su hermana Milena Pérez Joglar quien hace su debut
como directora con este video.
En él se revela una historia de
agresión dolorosa. Ella redefine el machismo como una expresión psicológica del
miedo.
“La canción ‘Temes‘ no
tiene nada que ver con el romance”, explica iLe. “En
cambio, es un bolero desafiante que expone uno de los puntos ciegos más oscuros
del patriarcado: el ‘machismo’ es más que una expresión de poder, es una
reacción de miedo débil y horrorosa“.
“Un bajo fuerte y una
guitarra calmante son seguidos por un solo de órgano, que marca el camino hacia
una canción que pretende bailar a través de la dura realidad que aún vivimos y
esperamos transformarla“.
“Temes” es la
continuación al sencillo “Odio” de iLe, Estas dos
canciones serán parte del segundo álbum de iLe como solista.
Su primer álbum “iLevitable” fue aclamado por el New York
Times, Fader, NPR , Rolligstone entre otros.

MIAMI (March 6, 2019) – iLe has
released a new single/video “Temes” available today at all digital music
stores.
“Temes” presents a somber,
direct questioning of machismo. In the video directed by Milena Pérez Joglar,
intimate camera shots reveal a story of painful aggression. iLe questions
– point blank – “why do you fear me?” She redefines machismo as a
psychological expression of terror.
“The song ‘Temes’ has
nothing to do with romance,” iLe explains. “Instead
it is a defiant bolero that exposes one of patriarchy’s darkest blind spots:
‘machismo’ is more than an expression of power, it is a weak and horrifying
reaction of fear.”

guitar followed by an organ solo, leading the way to a song that intends to
dance one through the rough reality we are still living and hopefully transform
it.”
“Temes”
follows iLe‘s single “Odio” which was described
last year by Pitchfork as “A protest song in the most righteous
tradition.” These two tracks preview iLe‘s sophomore album
which will be released this spring. The album is the follow-up to her GRAMMY®
winning solo debut ‘iLevitable‘ which was acclaimed in The New York
Times, The FADER, NPR and more.
“Odio” looks at how
we can all kill the hate that destroys us. “We are still manipulated by
the hate that we feed,” iLe says. “If we want to live in a world
guided by love, we have to make the effort to look within, and be willing to
find ourselves in our fellow human beings.”
The official “Odio”
music video recreates an important moment in Puerto Rican history – the Cerro
Maravilla massacre and government cover-up of 1978. Cerro Maravilla is widely
considered to be one of the biggest assassination cover-ups by the Puerto Rican
and U.S. governments in which two young pro-independence activists were
murdered in a police ambush.
