MIAMI (23 de abril de 2020) – Las estrellas de la música Gente de Zona y Becky G se unen en nueva colaboración “Muchacha”.

En “Muchacha“, su nueva propuesta musical, los artistas arman la fiesta junto a Becky G, la superestrella americana-mexicana de 22 años de Inglewood, California. Becky G interpreta sus raps con ese sabor de la costa oeste, mientras que Alexander le responde con un gran elogio en la primera línea de la canción: “pero baila como cubana, ¡pero baila como una niña cubana!”.
Todo el hemisferio va a cantar Muchacha, mu-cha-cha. . . muy pronto. Al igual que cantaron ese o-o-o-o de “Bailando” hace seis años. El video musical estrena el 23 de abril y el sencillo estará disponible en todas las plataformas digitales el 24 de abril.

En el sabor irresistible de “Muchacha” está latente el reggaetón-pop al son y acordes de la guitarra, y fue producido por el cuatro veces ganador del GRAMMY® Echo (Paul Irizarry Suau) y Daniel Joel Márquez Díaz con Pututi (Alejandro Arce) en la co-producción.
En el video, dirigido por Joaquín Cambre, Becky G interpreta el papel de una cenicienta moderna explotada por su padrastro. La magia de la música y el baile transforma a Becky de un diamante sin pulir, en una mujer empoderada lista para vivir su sueño entre rumba, alegría y rebelión. Ella se une a Randy y Alexander en una fiesta en la playa, y poco después se da cuenta de que todas las fantasías llegan a su fin.

ACERCA DE GENTE DE ZONA:
Gente de Zona es el dúo fundado en 2000 por Alexander Delgado en el proyecto de viviendas de La Habana en Alamar. El grupo, en ese momento un trío, rápidamente se convirtió en estrellas de la nueva ola de reggaetón que inundaba a Cuba en la primera mitad de los años 2000. Después de años de grabaciones independientes, llegó el debut de su álbum Lo Mejor Que Suena Ahora 2008, seguido por A Full en 2010.
En 2013, ya eran un nombre familiar en Cuba, y Gente de Zona adoptó otro formato con un cambio de personal que trajo a Randy Malcom, que ya era una estrella pop profesional con mucha experiencia después de diez años trabajando como miembro de Charanga Habanera. Ambos, formaron un equilibrio musical perfecto, el barítono “graspy” a lo estilo MC de Alexander y el altísimo tenor melódico de Randy.
Como nuevo dúo, Gente de Zona pronto se convirtió en un fenómeno mundial, comenzando en 2014 con Bailando, (Enrique Iglesias con GDZ) y el virtuoso del pop cubano Descemer Bueno. Bailando uno de los mayores éxitos del pop latino de la historia, ocupó el puesto número 1 en las Hot Latin Songs de Billboard durante 41 semanas, acumuló 2.800 millones de reproducciones en YouTube, ganó tres Grammy Latinos y catapultó al dúo al tope de las figuras pop internacionales. A partir de ese momento, comenzaron a presentarse en importantes salas como el American Airlines Arena de Miami y otras de gran categoría en todo el mundo.
Después de un mega éxito mundial en 2014, el grupo estaba perfectamente posicionado para ingresar a la música popular en español. Visualízate ganó un Grammy Latino, y fue seguido por En Letra de Otro (2018) y Otra Cosa (2019), el cual obtuvo Platino. La presentación de Gente de Zona en el conocido Festival de Viñas del Mar en Chile en el 2018, registró cerca de 2 millones de vistas en YouTube.
Gente de Zona ha posicionado 12 sencillos en las listas de “Hot Latin Songs” de Billboard, así como 12 temas en Latin Airplay, entre ellos los himnos de fiestas como Piensas (Dile La Verdad), una colaboración con Pitbull. MIAMI (April 23, 2020) – World-renown Cuban duo Gente de Zona have teamed up with global superstar Becky G to bring us their latest single and video “Muchacha”.

The 22-year old Inglewood, CA native of Mexican descent, Becky G, spits her raps with West Coast flavor, while Gente de Zona’s Alexander Delgado gives her his highest praise in the song’s first line: “pero baila como cubana – but she dances like a Cuban girl!.“

“Muchacha’s” irresistible flavor over a guitar-driven pop-reggaetón track, was produced by four-time GRAMMY® winner Echo (Paul Irizarry Suau) and Daniel Joel Márquez Díaz with co-producer Pututi (Alejandro Arce).
In the video, directed by Joaquin Cambre, Becky G plays the role of a modern Cinderella exploited by her stepfather. The magic of music and dance transforms Becky from an uncut gem, into an empowered woman ready to live her dream of rumba, joy and rebellion. She joins Randy and Alexander at a beach party, but soon after realizes all fantasies come to an end.

ABOUT GENTE DE ZONA:
Gente de Zona is a vocal duo founded in 2000 by Alexander Delgado in the exurban Havana housing project of Alamar. The group, at the time a trio, quickly became stars of the new wave of reggaeton that overwhelmed Cuba in the first half of the 2‘00s. After years of underground recordings, their debut album, Lo Mejor Que Suena Ahora in 2008, was followed by A Full in 2010.
In 2013, already a household name in Cuba, Gente de Zona took on its definitive format with a personnel change that brought in Randy Malcom, already a seasoned professional pop star from ten years of hard work as a member of Charanga Habanera. They formed a perfect musical balance, Alexander’s grainy MC-style baritone against Randy’s soaring melodic tenor.
