videoclip llama a la actuación ante la emergencia climática
Macaco se
suma a la huelga mundial en defensa del clima de este
27 de
septiembre con el estreno ese mismo día de “Blue”
MIAMI (27
de septiembre, 2019) – “Los hijos de nuestra Madre Tierra nos hemos
convertido en una plaga para ella”. La frase es de Macaco y
resume su inquietud, la que se extiende por todo el planeta, por la emergencia
climática. Macaco se suma a la huelga mundial en defensa del
clima de este 27 de septiembre con el estreno ese mismo día de “Blue“, su
nuevo videoclip con Jorge Drexler. No cabe imaginar mejor alianza
para una movilización como esta.
Activista
confeso de Greenpeace entre otras organizaciones, Macaco no
puede dejar pasar la oportunidad para levantarse contra el cambio climático.
2019 ha batido los peores récords en cuanto al clima se refiere. Como destaca
la organización ecologista, estamos en una situación de emergencia que solo
puede revertirse si los gobiernos toman las medidas necesarias para salvar el
clima. Esa es la filosofía que le lleva a encadenar su voz con la de Drexler,
para regalarnos una joya musical que es también una lanza reivindicativa.
La
jornada del 27 es un intento casi desesperado de encontrar una solución para
nuestro futuro y el de las generaciones futuras. Por eso ese día Greenpeace ha
convocado junto a otros colectivos una huelga mundial por el clima con
manifestaciones por todo el territorio, en el contexto de una movilización
global que quiere forzar a gobiernos e instituciones internacionales a actuar
de forma rápida y decidida en la protección del clima.
Greenpeace
promueve la convocatoria con una descripción nada tranquilizadora de la
situación: “La comunidad científica lleva años advirtiendo de que los
impactos del cambio climático se agravarán en la medida que sigamos aumentando
las emisiones. También alerta de que el suroeste de Europa se verá
especialmente afectado por las olas de calor, habrá mayor riesgos de
inundaciones, de eventos meteorológicos extremos, mayor riesgo de incendios y
un aumento en el número de días de riesgo alto de incendios. Y, mientras la
clase política no da un paso al frente para liderar la lucha frente al cambio
climático, la sociedad ha dicho: ¡Basta ya!”.
Macaco también
levanta la voz contra esta situación: “Nuestro ego, nuestra avaricia,
nuestra falta de perspectiva sobre nosotros mismos….., está terminando con
nuestra casa, nuestra única patria. Es un momento histórico para los humanos,
no hay vuelta atrás. ¡Es hora de actuar!”. “Las falacias emitidas por los
poderes cáusticos económicos del mundo no se sostienen por ningún lado, sus
argumentos son papel mojado”, se conjura el músico barcelonés.

Macaco Joins The Global Climate Strike by Releasing “Blue” on September
27th
MIAMI (September 27, 2019) – “The children of our Mother Earth have become a plague for
her.” This statement by Macaco summarizes his
concern, which spreads across the planet, for the present climate emergency. Macaco joins
the Global Climate Strike to be held on September 27th and releases “Blue”, his brand new music
video feat. Jorge Drexler, on the same day. There’s no better
alliance for a mobilization like this.
As a Greenpeace activist, among other organizations, Macaco cannot
miss the opportunity to rise against climate change. 2019 has broken the worst
records in climate terms. As the environmental organization points out, we are
in an emergency situation that can only be undone if governments take the necessary
measures to save the climate. That is the very reason why Macaco has
joined his voice to Drexler’s, to give us a musical jewel that is
also a vindictive spear.
September 27th is an almost desperate attempt to find a solution for our
future and that of future generations. That’s why Greenpeace, along with other
groups, called a global climate strike with demonstrations throughout the
country, in the context of a global mobilization that aims to force governments
and international institutions to act quickly and decisively to protect the
climate.
Greenpeace encourages everybody to take part in the event with a far
from reassuring description of the situation: “The scientific community
has been warning us for years that the impacts of climate change will worsen as
we continue to increase emissions. It also warns that south-west Europe will be
particularly affected by heat waves, there will be increased risks of flooding,
extreme weather events, growing fire risk and an increase in the number of days
of high fire risk. And, while politicians do not step forward to lead the fight
against climate change, society has said: ‘Enough is enough!’
Macaco also raises his voice
against this situation: “Our ego, our greed, our lack of perspective on
ourselves…, are destroying our home, our only homeland. It’s a turning point
for humans, there’s no turning back. It’s time for action!” “The
fallacies expressed by the caustic economic powers of the world are not at all
convincing, their arguments are nothing but empty rhetoric,” the
musician from Barcelona declared.
