Telemundo Deportes selecciona “HOY”, el nuevo sencillo del cinco veces nominado al LATIN GRAMMY® DIEGO TORRES, como la canción oficial de Telemundo para su cobertura de los juegos olímpicos

MIAMI (21 de julio de 2021) – Telemundo Deportes, la casa en español de los Juegos Olímpicos, anunció que “Hoy”, el nuevo sencillo del cinco veces nominado al Latin GRAMMY®, Diego Torres, será la canción oficial de Telemundo para la cobertura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio.
“Como amante del deporte para mi es un honor que esta canción esté asociada a un evento tan importante y precisamente Hoy habla de no rendirse y que nada es imposible así que me parece muy oportuno el momento”, dijo el cantante y compositor Diego Torres.
El uso de “Hoy” por parte de Telemundo Deportes es una colaboración con Sony Music Entertainment y Diego Torres que tiene como objetivo conectar a los espectadores con la emoción en torno a las Olimpíadas, y con recorrido y la inspiración de los muchos atletas que van en busca de alcanzar sus sueños.
“Queremos que nuestra cobertura conmueva e inspire a la audiencia”, dijo Eli Velázquez, vicepresidente ejecutivo de Contenido de Telemundo Deportes. “Nos sentimos muy contentos de integrar a Diego Torres y ‘Hoy’ a nuestra cobertura, y creemos que la canción envía un mensaje esperanzador que se alinea perfectamente con las increíbles actuaciones que veremos de los atletas y las historias que contaremos durante los Juegos”.
“Hoy” será utilizada en toda la cobertura olímpica de Telemundo Deportes a partir de esta noche con el especial preliminar de las Olimpíadas El Camino Dorado, que se transmitirá por Telemundo a las 7:00 p.m. (hora del Este/Pacífico). ‘“Hoy” también será utilizada durante la transmisión de los eventos en vivo de Telemundo y Universo; en el programa nocturno en vivo de Telemundo que saldrá al aire todas las noches, a la medianoche, a partir del domingo 25 de julio, y en el programa olímpico diurno de Telemundo a ser transmitido de lunes a viernes a la 1:00 p.m. (hora del Este/Pacífico) a partir del lunes 26 de julio.
“Hoy” fue compuesta por Diego Torres, Yadam González Cárdenas “Yadam” y Gerardo Cea y cuenta con la colaboración de la cantante brasilera Ivette Sangalo. El tema forma parte de la más reciente producción de estudio de Torres, Atlántico A Pie, que lanzó en mayo de este año.
En un esfuerzo por generar entusiasmo en torno a “Hoy” y a la amplia cobertura multimedia de Telemundo de los Juegos Olímpicos, la cadena lanzará hoy, durante su transmisión de En casa con Telemundo, el desafío de medios sociales TikTokyo. Este desafío alentará a los fanáticos de Telemundo a subir su mejor coreografía mientras bailan “Hoy” de Diego Torres utilizando los hashtags #OlimpicosTelemundo #TikTokyoChallenge.
Como la casa en español de los Juegos Olímpicos, Telemundo ofrecerá la cobertura olímpica más extensa jamás realizada en los medios en español, con más de 300 horas de programación de Tokio 2020. Durante las Olimpíadas, en la mayor parte de los días, Telemundo y Universo estarán presentando al menos 12 horas de cobertura deportiva en vivo durante la noche y la madrugada. Toda la oferta lineal también está disponible en vivo a través de TelemundoDeportes.com y la aplicación Telemundo Deportes.
Los 17 días de cobertura de Telemundo Deportes de Tokio 2020 estarán cubriendo las historias más importantes de los Juegos y con el foco un enfoque especial en el fútbol y otras competencias deportivas relevantes para la audiencia latina, entre ellas boxeo, baloncesto, béisbol, voleibol, voleibol de playa. La cobertura también resaltará las historias que más atraen a la audiencia y aquella en que los equipos latinoamericanos son fuertes contendientes. Además, Telemundo Deportes complementará la cobertura de NBC en horario estelar del equipo de EE.UU. –el Team USA– y de populares competencias como la natación, los saltos ornamentales, el atletismo y la gimnasia, con aspectos destacados y resúmenes diarios.

MIAMI (July 21, 2021) – Telemundo Deportes, the Spanish-language home of the Olympics, today announced that five-time Latin Grammy nominee Diego Torres’ new single “Hoy” will serve as the official song for Telemundo’s coverage of the Tokyo Olympics.
“As a sports lover, for me it is an honor that this song is associated with such an important event,” said singer-songwriter Diego Torres. “‘Hoy’ precisely speaks about not giving up and that nothing is impossible, so the timing is very opportune.”
Telemundo Deportes’ use of “Hoy” is a collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment and Diego Torres that aims to connect viewers with the excitement around the Olympics and the journey and inspiration of the many athletes looking to achieve their dreams.

“Hoy” will be used across Telemundo Deportes’ Olympic coverage starting tonight with the special Olympic Preview: El Camino Dorado airing on Telemundo at 7 p.m. ET/PT. “Hoy” will also be used on Telemundo and Universo’s live event windows, Telemundo’s late-night live show airing every evening at midnight starting Sunday, July 25 and Telemundo’s daytime Olympic show that will air Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. ET/PR starting Monday, July 26.
“Hoy” was composed by Diego Torres, Yadam González Cárdenas “Yadam” and Gerardo Cea, and features the collaboration of the Brazilian singer Ivette Sangalo. The single is part of Torres’ latest studio album Atlántico A Pie released in May of this year.
To generate excitement around “Hoy” and Telemundo’s extensive multimedia coverage of the Olympic Games, the network will launch today, during its broadcast of En Casa Con Telemundo, the TikTokyo social media challenge. The challenge will encourage Telemundo fans to upload their best choreography as they dance to Diego Torres’ “Hoy” by using the hashtags #OlimpicosTelemundo #TikTokyoChallenge.
As the Spanish-language home of the Olympics, Telemundo will present the most extensive Olympic coverage ever in Spanish-language media with over 300 hours of Tokyo 2020 programming. During the Olympics, on most days Telemundo and Universo will present at least 12 hours of live sports coverage throughout the night and early morning. The entire linear offering will also be available live via TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Deportes app.
Telemundo Deportes’ 17 days of coverage of Tokyo 2020 will cover the Games’ biggest stories, with a focus on soccer and other sports competitions relevant to the Latino audience, including boxing, basketball, baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball. The coverage will also highlight the top stories that appeal the most to the audience and in which Latin American teams are strong contenders. In addition, Telemundo Deportes will complement NBC’s primetime coverage of Team USA and popular competitions like swimming, diving, athletics and gymnastics with daily recaps and highlights.
