ARTHUR HANLON redescubre canciones atemporales con vocalistas prodigios en su magnífico álbum PIANO Y MUJER

MIAMI (9 de abril de 2021) – El pianista irlando-americano Arthur Hanlon, considerado uno de los instrumentistas más exitosos de su generación en la música latina, hoy estrena Piano y Mujer, donde reinventa canciones atemporales, cantadas por las mujeres más grandiosas de la música latina. Este álbum estará disponible a partir de hoy en formato digital en todas las plataformas.
Piano y Mujer demuestra que todo lo que necesitas para hacer música inolvidable es un extraordinario pianista y una apasionada cantante femenina, ya que este álbum pone el reflector en los dones vocales y el poder de talentos como Kany García, Natalia Jiménez, GOYO de ChocQuibTown, Nella y Evaluna Montaner.

Destacando una orquesta enérgica que puede hacer swing con los mejores, este álbum es producido por Motiff (Gloria Estefan, Gente de Zona, Yandel), quien también contribuye con su habilidad para tocar la guitarra eléctrica.
La seis veces ganadora del Latin GRAMMY® y puertoriqueña, Kany García, se une a Arthur en el primer sencillo, “Evidencias”, una nueva versión de la dramática balada de 1992 de Ana Gabriel. Lanzada el 19 de marzo, esta nueva versión ha sido acogida por los fans de la original, así como también por los seguidores de Kany, quienes están gratamente sorprendidos de ver a esta compositora ejemplar interpretando una versión de esta canción. En menos de tres semanas, ha superado las 2.1 millones de vistas en YouTube.
También nos presentan una fresca versión de “Hoy Ya Me Voy”, el primer éxito icónico de la carrera de Kany en 2007.
La ganadora del GRAMMY® y Latin GRAMMY® Natalia Jiménez de España presta su poderosa voz a “Cielo Rojo”, la canción ranchera que originalmente se hizo famosa en 1957 por la cantante y actriz mexicana Flor Silvestre (1930-2020). Respaldando a Natalia se encuentra el talentoso Mariachi México Internacional. Ella también regresa a uno de sus éxitos propios, “Creo En Mí” de 2015, en una actuación majestuosa que nos deja hechizados.
GOYO, la cantante y rapera del grupo colombiano ChocQuibTown, ganador del Latin GRAMMY®, se une a Arthur para expresarse con vulnerabilidad en su versión del clásico de salsa “Gotas de Lluvia”, creado por Grupo Niche en 1995. Termina la canción con un sentido agradecimiento al antiguo vocalista y fundador del grupo, Jairo Varela (1949-2012). En la canción con mayor influencia urbana, reelabora el éxito de ChocQuibTown de 2016, “Nuquí (Te Quiero Para Mí)”, mientras rapea nuevas letras de aliento sobre esta época de pandemia.
La cantante venezolana Nella, ganadora del Latin GRAMMY® 2019 al Mejor Nuevo Artista , rinde homenaje a las raíces de la música folclórica de su país con “Caballo Viejo”, escrito y grabado por Simón Díaz en 1980. También rehace su canción del 2018, escrita por Javier Limon, “Me Llaman Nella”, con un acompañamiento de piano que incorpora estilos de salón e incluso entrelaza “Hotel California”.
La joven cantante, compositora y actriz venezolana Evaluna Montaner, ofrece las dos únicas canciones en inglés, ambas espirituales, pero de diferentes formas. Primero, ella y Arthur nos regalan una versión de “Amazing Grace” que se mantiene fiel al himno que representa, al mismo tiempo que incorpora un ritmo intrigante y magníficas florituras de piano. Es a la vez completamente familiar y como nada que hayamos escuchado antes. También interpreta el estándar de Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah”, cuyo video musical está disponible hoy en el canal de YouTube de Arthur.
Arthur une todo esto con tres destacados temas instrumentales, dos de ellos composiciones originales. Abre con “Vámonos Compadre”, que yuxtapone de manera experta el blues y el sonido de una big band. A la mitad, nos deleita con “Paraíso”, una canción melódica de influencia española que nos lleva en emocionantes giros y vueltas. Y cierra el álbum con el mejor tema para sentirse bien, “Oye Cómo Va!” de Tito Puente.

The Concert Special Piano Y Mujer Is To Premiere April 16 On HBO Latino And Streaming on HBO Max
MIAMI (April 9, 2021) – Arthur Hanlon, the Irish-American pianist and one of the most successful Latin-music instrumentalists of his generation, today releases Piano y Mujer, where he reinvents timeless songs, sung by the greatest women in Latin music. This album is available today in digital format from all music outlets.
Piano y Mujer proves that all you need to make unforgettable music is an extraordinary pianist and a passionate female singer, as this album puts the focus on the vocal gifts and power of such talents as Kany García, Natalia Jiménez, GOYO of ChocQuibTown, Nella and Evaluna Montaner.
As Arthur puts it: “There’s nothing more pure, honest and magical than piano and voice. And what could possibly be more magical than piano and the female voice?”
Featuring an energetic orchestra that can swing with the best of them, this album is produced by Motiff (Gloria Estefan, Gente de Zona, Yandel), who also contributes his skillful electric guitar playing.
The six-time Latin GRAMMY®-winner and Puerto Rican Kany García joins Arthur on the first single, “Evidencias,” a remake of Ana Gabriel’s dramatic 1992 ballad. Released on March 19, this new version has been embraced by fans of the original, as well as followers of Kany who are pleasantly surprised to see this exemplary songwriter performing a cover version. In less than three weeks, it has surpassed 2.1 million views on YouTube.
They also perform together on a fresh version of “Hoy Ya Me Voy,” the iconic first hit of Kany’s career in 2007.
GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®-winner Natalia Jiménez of Spain lends her powerful vocals to “Cielo Rojo,” the ranchera originally made famous in 1957 by the Mexican singer and actress Flor Silvestre (1930-2020). Backing her is the talented Mariachi México Internacional. She, too, revisits one of her own hits, “Creo En Mi” from 2015, in a soaring performance that leaves us spellbound.
GOYO, the Colombian singer and rapper from Latin GRAMMY®-winning group ChocQuibTown joins Arthur to give one of her most vulnerable vocals to date with her version of the salsa classic “Gotas de Lluvia,” created by Grupo Niche in 1995. She ends the song with a heartfelt shoutout to the group’s longtime vocalist and founder Jairo Varela (1949-2012). On the record’s most urban-influenced track, she reworks ChocQuibTown’s 2016 hit “Nuquí (Te Quiero Para Mi),” while rapping timely new lyrics about overcoming the pandemic.
Venezuelan singer Nella, winner of the 2019 Latin GRAMMY® for Best New Artist, pays tribute to her country’s folk-music roots with “Caballo Viejo,” written and recorded by Simón Díaz in 1980. She also remakes her breakout 2018 song, written by Javier Limon, “Me Llaman Nella” with a piano backing that incorporates salon styles and even interpolates “Hotel California.”
The young Venezuelan singer, songwriter and actress Evaluna Montaner provides the only two songs in English, both spiritual but in different ways. First, she and Arthur offer a version of “Amazing Grace” that stays true to the hymn’s reverence while incorporating an intriguing rhythm and gorgeous piano flourishes. It’s at once completely familiar and like nothing we’ve ever heard before. She also performs the Leonard Cohen standard “Hallelujah,” whose music video is available today on Arthur’s YouTube channel.
Arthur brings it all together with three outstanding instrumentals, two of them original compositions. He opens with “Vámonos Compadre” which expertly juxtaposes blues and a big-band sound. In the middle of the album, he delights us with “Paraíso,” a melodic, Spanish-influenced song that takes us on exciting twists and turns. And he closes out the album with the ultimate feel-good number, Tito Puente’s “Oye Como Va!”
Paying tribute to women in Latin music, the Piano y Mujer project is accompanied by a televised special, produced by Loud And Live Studios, to premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT Friday, April 16 on HBO Latino and will be available to stream on HBO Max..
