LEIVA publica MADRID NUCLEAR y acompaña el lanzamiento con el video de “VIS A VIS”
MIAMI (23 de noviembre de 2020) – Leiva publicó su esperado directo Madrid Nuclear, acompañado del video de “Vis a vis”.
Triste y esperanzada saeta carcelaria, “Vis a vis” es un emotivo tema que lleva acompañando a Leiva desde los albores de su carrera en solitario. En origen, un poema de su amigo Kike Babas al que Leiva puso música y adaptó líricamente, creando una bellísima balada, delicada torch-song que deja a su paso un reguero de corazones y gargantas con el sentimiento a flor de piel.
“Vis a vis” es el momento del concierto en el que Leiva se queda solo bajo los focos, musicalmente desnudo ante su público. Tras un rasgueo de cuerdas y el arranque demoledor de los primeros versos de la canción, “Y qué bonito mirar / la sombra que hacen las rejas / mientras meto las orejas / en el centro de tu andar” se crea un absoluto y mágico silencio por parte del respetable, 15.000 almas que se arrancan en cerrada ovación al final del primer estribillo. En la segunda estrofa Leiva incluso suelta la guitarra y abre los brazos en cruz, en un gesto épico, guiño y homenaje al desparecido maestro Manuel Molina emocionando al público presente.
En los últimos acordes reaparece en escena la Leiband y la pantalla gigante se nutre de fotografías en blanco y negro que acompañan a un público que, ahora sí, corea a un punto de miel y congoja, poniéndole sangre al grito de los que aman sin poder amar. Uno de los broches de oro de Madrid Nuclear.

LEIVA Today Releases His Album MADRID NUCLEAR Along With The Music Video Of “VIS A VIS”
MIAMI (November 23, 2020) – The Spanish alt-rock icon Leiva releases his highly anticipated live album Madrid Nuclear, along with the music video for the album cut “Vis a Vis.”
A mournful piece influenced by the saeta religious song form, “Vis a Vis” has been a part of Leiva’s repertoire since the beginning of his solo career. It started out as a poem by his friend, the singer Kike Babas, to which Leiva added music and additional lyrical touches. Becoming a lovely ballad, a delicate torch song, “Vis a Vis” touches our hearts and invites to sing along.
During his concerts, Leiva performs “Vis a Vis” alone under the spotlights as the sole focal point of his audience. After strumming his strings and launching into the vivid lyrics “How lovely to see the shadow that the gates make, as I position my ears in the center of your walk”, some 15,000 spectators look on in complete and magical silence, before erupting into a massive ovation at the end of the first chorus. On the second verse, Leiva lets go of his guitar and spreads his arms out to his side, in a heartfelt tribute to the late flamenco great Manuel Molina (1948-2015).
As the final chords ring out, his musicians, known as the Leiband, re-emerge, and the giant screen is lit up with black-and-white images as the audience continues to sing along, “adding blood to the cry of those who love without being able to love,” in the words of this ode to unrequited feelings. This is truly one of the gems of Madrid Nuclear.
