LUIS FIGUEROA nos presenta su primer álbum Canciones del Alma
Su sencillo “Hasta El Sol De Hoy” goza de gran éxito en Billboard y en las plataformas digitales

MIAMI (28 de mayo de 2021) – Con su nuevo álbum Canciones del Alma, el talentoso cantante y compositor puertorriqueño Luis Figueroa comparte canciones que tocan fondo en su vida. Este álbum ya se encuentra disponible en formato digital vía Sony Music Latin/Magnus Music.
Canciones del Alma no solamente es una producción reveladora sobre las raíces musicales de este emergente artista, sino una gran exposición para su inconfundible voz. Los arreglos de estas 10 canciones, realizados por el músico ecuatoriano Homero Gallardo, tienen influencias de pop, bolero, jazz y música acústica. Además hay un bonus track de “Hasta El Sol de Hoy” (versión salsa) producido por Jay Lugo que se coloca en el Top 10 de la lista Tropical de Billboard. Mientras tanto, la versión pop se posiciona en el Top 20 de Latin Pop Airplay.
A la par con el lanzamiento del álbum, Luis estrena el video musical de su tema de enfoque “Si Tú Me Dices Ven”, bolero que fue grabado hace décadas por Trío Los Panchos.
Los temas de Canciones del Alma forman parte de sus recuerdos más profundos de familia, de su crecimiento musical, y de momentos claves en su carrera.
Dos de las canciones de este disco son de la autoría del maestro panameño Omar Alfanno – “A Puro Dolor”, el éxito latino más grande del 2000 interpretado por Son By Four; y “Qué Hay de Malo”, grabado por El Bebé de la Salsa, Jerry Rivera, en 1993.
Luis interpreta “A Puro Dolor” en su versión bilingüe, como reconocimiento de su ciudad natal de Filadelfia, y sus primeros videos virales en YouTube que fueron cantados en inglés. “Qué Hay de Malo” le trae gratos recuerdos a Luis por tratarse de un amor de juventud que siempre llega al corazón.
Otra canción de Jerry Rivera que Luis Figueroa reinventa en este álbum es “Ese”. Desde su niñez, a Luis siempre le ha gustado cantar este tema, y ahora con el pasar de los años, entiende el significado de la letra, donde el protagonista está cantando sobre si mismo.
“Tú Con Él”, uno de los primeros éxitos en solitario que grabó el legendario talento de la salsa Frankie Ruíz en 1985, también figura en los recuerdos de Luis. “Recuerdo cuando él falleció (en 1998), mi madre lloró, nunca la había visto tan herida y triste. Lo que lo distinguió de los demás fue el color de su voz”.
Los hermosos acordes de la guitarra acústica acompaña a Luis Figueroa en dos canciones que aprendió en voz del consagrado cantante Luis Miguel. “Todo y Nada” e “Historia de Un Amor” son canciones románticas escritas en la década de los 50, y figuran en su álbum Segundo Romance (1994). Luis Figueroa las escuchaba en un reproductor de CDs que tenía en su casa. “Para mi, estos fueron estándares y me traen muchos recuerdos de la infancia y el descubrimiento de cuándo tuve por primera vez el amor por cantar”, asegura Luis.
“Hasta El Sol De Hoy”, el primer sencillo del álbum,viene en dos versiones, acústica y salsa. De la autoría de Oscar Domingo Derudi, esta canción cosechó el éxito por primera vez en 1993 cuando fue grabada por Edgar Joel y Su Orquesta en la voz de su cantante Anthony Colón, tío de Luis. Ahora, Luis lo graba como tributo a su tío y su familia de quien heredó su talento musical.
Además de ser éxito en las listas radiales de Billboard, esta canción forma parte de importantes listas de reproducción: Salsa Nation y Tropical Rising de Spotify; Mundo Tropical y Breaking Música Tropical de Apple Music; y Tierra Tropical y Salsa Hoy de Amazon Music.
La prensa especializada ha recibido esta canción con muy buenas críticas en revistas como Billboard, People, Metro y Vacancy.
Tres de los temas de Canciones del Alma han sido grabadas por cantantes que son mentores para Luis. El bolero clásico “Si Tú Me Dices Ven” del Trío Los Panchos fue presentado por Romeo Santos y Zacarías Ferreíra en el concierto Utopia de Santos en 2019. “Me uní a él como corista en tres de sus giras mundiales y fue allí donde realmente aprendí sobre las giras y el arte en vivo”.
Marc Anthony también es una figura muy importante en la trayectoria de Luis, quien en este álbum graba su versión de “Si Te Vas”. Luis recuerda ver el especial de Marc en HBO que fue transmitido en vivo en el 2000 desde Madison Square Garden, un gran hit en la historia de la música latina. Los sueños de Luis se volverían realidad cuando cantó “Flor Pálida” con su ídolo en los Premios Juventud 2016 y llegó a ser telonero de su gira Opus.
Otro artista consagrado de la música latina a quien Luis ha llegado a conocer personalmente es el cantante, compositor y productor cubano Jon Secada. Luis nos regala su versión bilingüe de “Ángel”, canción crossover que llegó al #18 en el Hot 100 y #1 en Hot Latin Songs de Billboard en 1992. Fue la canción que lo llevó a Hollywood, pues Luis la cantaba en las audiciones de American Idol.
A pesar de su juventud, Luis Figueroa posee las memorias musicales de alguien mucho mayor, ya que lleva toda una vida en la industria de la música, desde niño le encantaba el canto y no tardó en ejecutarlo de manera profesional.

In Conjunction With The Release Of The Album, Luis Figueroa Premieres The Music Video Of Focus Track “Si Tú Me Dices Ven”
MIAMI (May 28, 2021) – The talented Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, Luis Figueroa shares the songs that have made a mark on his life with his new album Canciones del Alma(Songs From the Soul). This album is available now in digital format via Sony Music Latin/Magnus Music.
More than a revealing production about the musical roots of this emerging artist, Canciones del Alma is a showcase for his distinctive voice. The arrangements of these 10 songs, supervised by the Ecuadorian musician Homero Gallardo, are influenced by pop, bolero, jazz and acoustic music. In addition, there’s a bonus track of “Hasta El Sol de Hoy” (salsa version) produced by Jay Lugo which is Top 10 on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart. Meanwhile, the pop version is Top 20 on Latin Pop Airplay.
Along with the album release, Luis debuts the music video of focus track “Si Tú Me Dices Ven,” a lovely bolero that was recorded decades ago by Trío Los Panchos.
The romantic tracks of Canciones del Alma comprise Luis’ deepest memories of family, musical growth, and key moments in his career.
Two of the songs on this album are written by the Panamanian maestro Omar Alfanno – “A Puro Dolor,” the biggest Spanish-language hit of 2000 as recorded by Son By Four; and “Qué Hay de Malo,” recorded by Jerry Rivera, known as El Bebé de la Salsa, in 1993.
Luis sings the bilingual version of “A Puro Dolor” as a tribute to his birthplace of Philadelphia and the fact that his first viral videos on YouTube were sung in English. “Qué Hay de Malo” brings Luis sweet memories with its lyrics of an idealized young love that remains close to our heart.
Another passionate Jerry Rivera hit that Luis Figueroa reinvents here is “Ese.” Since his boyhood, Luis has enjoyed singing this song. With the maturity of adulthood, he now appreciates the deeper meaning of the original lyrics, where we discover that the singer is referring to himself in third person.
“Tú Con Él,” one of the first solo hits recorded by the legendary salsero Frankie Ruíz in 1985, is also seared into Luis’ memories. “I remember when he passed away (in 1998), my mom cried. I had never seen her so hurt and sad. What distinguished him from others was the color of his voice.”
Lovely acoustic guitar chords accompany the voice of Luis Figueroa on two songs that he absorbed by listening to the iconic Luis Miguel. “Todo y Nada” and “Historia de Un Amor” are chestnuts from the 1950s that appeared on his chart-topping album Segundo Romance (1994). Luis Figueroa learned them as a boy on his CD player. As he recalls, “For me, these were standards and they bring me many childhood memories of discovering when I first had the love to sing.”
First single “Hasta El Sol De Hoy” has two versions – acoustic and the salsa bonus track. Written by Oscar Domingo Derudi, this song vaulted to prominence in 1993 when it was recorded by Edgar Joel y Su Orquesta, whose lead singer was Anthony Colón, Luis’ uncle. As such, Luis has recorded this song as a tribute to his uncle and his musically talented family.
In addition to being a Billboard hit, it is a recent add to several major streaming playlists, including Salsa Nation and Tropical Rising on Spotify; Mundo Tropical and Breaking Música Tropical on Apple Music; as well as Tierra Tropical and Salsa Hoy on Amazon Music.
It has also received outstanding reviews from such magazines as Billboard, People, Metro and Vacancy.
Three of the songs from Canciones del Alma were interpreted by singers who Luis considers to be mentors. Trío Los Panchos’ classic bolero “Si Tú Me Dices Ven” was performed by Romeo Santos and Zacarías Ferreíra as part of Santos’ 2019 Utopia concert. “I joined Romeo Santos as a backing vocalist for three of his world tours and it is there where I really learned about touring and the live craft.”
Marc Anthony is also a vital figure in the career discovery of Luis, who on this album records Marc’s classic “Si Te Vas.” Luis remembers watching Marc’s HBO special which was broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in 2000, in an iconic moment for Latin music history. Many years later, Luis’ dreams would come true when they sang Marc’s chart-topper “Flor Pálida” together at the 2016 Premios Juventud, and Luis went on to open for his Opus Tour.
Another acclaimed Latin artist whom Luis has gotten to know personally is the Cuban singer, songwriter, and producer Jon Secada. Luis offers us his bilingual version of “Ángel,” one of Secada’s crossovermilestones which originally reached #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on Hot Latin Songs in 1992. It was the song that took Luis to Hollywood, where he performed it as part of his American Idol auditions.
In spite of his young age, Luis Figueroa possesses the musical memories of a much older person, as he has spent his entire life in music. Since his youth, singing has been his passion and he began performing professionally as soon as he could.
