NATALIA LAFOURCADE se acompaña de RUBÉN BLADES y MARE ADVERTENCIA para la nueva versión de “TÚ SÍ SABES QUERERME” que formará parte de UN CANTO POR MÉXICO VOL. II
MIAMI (14 de mayo de 2021) – Natalia Lafourcade, reciente ganadora de dos Latin GRAMMY® y un GRAMMY® Award por el primer volumen de Un canto por México, nos lleva hacia el segundo volumen de este proyecto. Ahora, como segundo sencillo del disco en favor del Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho, la compositora comparte una nueva versión de su éxito “Tú Sí Sabes Quererme”, que cuenta con la participación de la leyenda de la salsa Rubén Blades y la rapera y activista social oaxaqueña Mare Advertencia. Sobre ello Natalia ha compartido algunas palabras:
El amor es el motor de la vida, es la medicina maestra que nos hace sentir bien y en equilibrio. Nos hace caminar y seguir adelante. Es la frecuencia que nos hace vibrar en alto, la frecuencia que nos eleva y nos hace coincidir con la belleza, con la libertad, con la vida. Cuando vibramos en la frecuencia del amor es que podemos reconocernos sin miedo, vernos a los ojos y encontrarnos con el alma. Es ahí que podemos sensibilizarnos y abrir nuestro campo para recibir y dar de vuelta. El amor es necesario, es como respirar, todos y todas lo queremos en nuestra vida. Cuando el amor se incorpora en nuestra frecuencia vital es que logramos conectar con valores muy importantes como la empatía, la compasión, la generosidad, la humildad, la ternura, la calma, la confianza, la solidaridad. El amor lo puede todo y es nuestra salvación. Es y seguirá siendo eso que como humanidad buscamos cada día de nuestra existencia. Y qué importante encontrar la semilla del amor adentro de nuestro ser y cultivar esa semilla y esa fuerza dentro de nosotros para poder crecer como un gran árbol de la vida. Y qué hermoso es poder encontrar el amor verdadero y darnos cuenta de que está mucho más cerca de lo que imaginamos: con su magia, sus misterios, su fuerza, su luz, su protección.
Esta canción la escribí hace algunos años para que formara parte de MUSAS (Un homenaje al folclore latinoamericano en manos de Los Macorinos), y justamente habla del buen amor, el que se vive en libertad y es bien correspondido, el amor que florece sin miedos ni cadenas, el amor que acepta, siente, comparte, se expande, vuela, es…
Grabé esta canción por primera vez con Los Macorinos con la intención de hacer un homenaje musical a ese sentimiento que tanto bien nos hace.
“Tú sí sabes quererme” toma su segundo vuelo en Un canto por México vol. 2. Esta vez se llena de fuerza, encanto y feminidad al ser toda una orquesta de músicos, músicas y artistas increíbles los que lo impregnan de nueva vida. Hace algunos años, en 2017, compartí este tema en la ceremonia de los Latin Grammy en Las Vegas. El destino movió sus hilos pues mi lugar entre el público estaba junto al del maestro Rubén Blades. Y de pronto el señor volteó, me dio la mano, un abrazo y me dijo lo mucho que le gustaba esta canción. Yo no supe qué decir, me quedé muda tratando de mantener la calma, apenas alcancé a decir: “por favor maestro, un día cantemos juntos” y en ese preciso instante, anunciaron que Rubén Blades había ganado el Grammy al mejor álbum de salsa. Entonces me dio otro abrazo veloz y subió al escenario feliz a recibir su reconocimiento. Años más tarde, tengo la dicha de invitarlo y que él acepte colaborar con su enorme talento y presencia en este proyecto musical. Uniéndose así a esta importante causa y gran familia.
Al mismo tiempo en que registrábamos la voz de Rubén, tuvimos la fortuna de recibir en el estudio a Mare Advertencia. Una mujer oaxaqueña, poeta, rapera, activista, feminista, guerrera de su palabra y pensamiento, guerrera de su comunidad. Escuché su música una tarde mientras navegaba por las plataformas musicales y escucharla me llevo a ver un pequeño documental acerca de su vida, sus principios, sus inquietudes e importante labor para su comunidad, el mundo del hip-hop y la poesía de protesta. Escucharla hablar me llenó de inspiración, es una de las tantas artistas emergentes que admiro profundamente y siento, tienen un mensaje poderoso para compartir. Estoy muy agradecida porque Mare también aceptó venir a esta familia. Ahora su voz es la voz de tantas mujeres que forman parte de Un canto por México y que hacen que el sentir de las que no están también quede plasmado en la música: en éstas piezas que hemos gestado con tanto cariño. Hoy más que nunca nos toca cantarle al amor y qué mejor que bailando, si se puede, descalzos con los pies bien plantados en la tierra porque está más viva que nunca y justo en ella habita la frecuencia del amor. Merecemos un buen mundo y que el amor sea la guía.

Sobre Un canto por México :
Un canto por México es un proyecto musical benéfico que Natalia Lafourcade destina a distintas causas, en esta ocasión es en favor de la reconstrucción del Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho, que en 2017 se vio gravemente afectado. Además de contar con diferentes donantes y esfuerzos específicos, el pasado mes de noviembre bajo la bandera de este proyecto se realizó una presentación en vivo en el Auditorio nacional de la CDMX con un rotundo sold out que ofreció todas las ganancias a las obras de reconstrucción del CDSJ. Los discos Un canto por México volumen uno y dos son el resultado de la preparación en comunidad de la música de dicho concierto.
Acerca del Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho:
El Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho (CDSJ) es un recinto fundado por Ricardo Perry y los Cojolites hace más de 19 años. Desde entonces sirve para formar músicos, bailarines y para capacitar en la industria textil, la alfarería, el arte culinario y otros saberes del pueblo veracruzano. El CDSJ ha fortalecido el tejido social y ha preservado tradiciones de la comunidad, además de ser el único lugar en México donde se documenta lo relacionado al son jarocho. Durante los sismos de septiembre de 2017 el CDSJ se vio gravemente afectado y Natalia Lafourcade decidió apoyar su reconstrucción. Convocados por la artista, Nido Social A.C., el Fideicomiso Fuerza México, la fundación Pienza Sostenible y el Taller ADG, entre otros dieron juntos los primeros pasos en el proceso. Así nace “Juntos por CDSJ” (@juntos_cdsj), enfocado a unir voluntades, recaudar fondos y canalizar toda ayuda para la reconstrucción del centro y del hogar de las familias que vivían ahí.

MIAMI (May 14, 2021) – Today, the renowned Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade releases “Tú Sí Sabes Quererme”, the second single from her upcoming album Un Canto Por México Vol. 2 . Written by Natalia and originally released on her 2017 album Musas, this version features the salsa legend Rubén Blades, as well as the Oaxacan rapper and social activist Mare Advertencia.
The first volume of this album was recently awarded two Latin GRAMMYs® and a mainstream GRAMMY®. Like the first album, the second volume will raise funds for the cultural center El Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho (CDSJ).
In a missive to her fans, Natalia discusses the feeling behind this gorgeous song, and how the collaborations came to be:
Love is the engine of life, it is the best medicine to make us feel well and balanced. It allows us to move and continue forward. It is the frequency that makes us vibrate on a higher plane, the frequency that lifts us up and helps us coincide with beauty and freedom, and with life. When we vibrate on the frequency of love, we can recognize each other without fear, look into one another’s eyes, and engage with the soul. It is there that we can find sensitivity and open ourselves to receive and to give. Love is necessary, like breathing; we all want it in our lives. When we are attuned to love’s frequency we are able to connect with essential values like empathy, generosity, humility, tenderness, calm, confidence and solidarity. Love cures all and is our salvation. It is and will continue to be what humanity searches for every day of our existence. And how important it is to find the seed of love inside each of us, cultivate that seed and inner potential so it can grow like a great tree of life. And how beautiful it is to be able to find true love and realize that it is much closer than we imagine: with its love, mysteries, power, light and protection.
I wrote this song a few years ago to be part of MUSAS (an homage to Latin American folklore in the hands of Los Macorinos), and rightly so, it speaks of good love, that which exists in freedom and is reciprocal, love that flourishes without fear or chains, love that accepts, feels, shares, expands, soars, is… I recorded this song for the first time with Los Macorinos with the intention of doing a musical tribute to that feeling that does so much good for us.
‘Tú sí Sabes Quererme’ takes a second spin in Un Canto por Mexico Vol. 2. This time it’s filled with power, joy and female energy with an orchestra of incredible musicians and artists who infuse it with new life. A few years ago, in 2017, I performed this song at the Latin GRAMMY®ceremony in Las Vegas. As fate would have it, that night I was seated next to the great Ruben Blades. And suddenly he turned, gave me his hand and a hug and told me how much he liked this song. I didn’t know what to say, I was speechless, trying to stay calm, and barely managed to reply, “Please maestro, one day we can sing it together” and just at that moment, they announced that Ruben Blades had won the GRAMMY®for the Best Salsa Album. Then he gave me another quick hug and went up on stage, happy to receive his award. Years later, I was lucky enough to invite him and that he accepted to collaborate on this project, bringing his enormous talent and presence, joining this great family for this important cause.
At the same time we were recording Ruben’s voice, we were fortunate to welcome to the studio Mare Advertencia, a Oaxacan woman, poet, rapper, feminist, warrior of word and thought, activist of her community. I listened to her music one afternoon while searching music platforms and I came upon a short documentary about her life, her principles, her passions and important work for the community, the world of hip-hop and poetry of protest. Listening to her speak, I was filled with inspiration – she is one of many emerging artists whom I admire and feel deeply with a powerful message to share. I am very grateful that Mare also accepted to come into this family.
Now her voice is the voice of so many women who form part of Un Canto por Mexico, making it so the feelings of those who are not present are captured in the music, in these pieces that we have created with so much affection. Today more than ever we need to sing to love, and better, dance, if possible, with our feet firmly planted on the ground because it is more alive than ever, and within it exists the frequency of love.

About Un Canto por México :
Un Canto por México (A Song For Mexico) is an umbrella project that Natalia Lafourcade has used to support various humanitarian efforts. Currently it is focused on the CDSJ, which was severly damaged by the September 2017 earthquakes. Relying on a variety of donors and focused efforts, the project was furthered in November 2019 by Natalia’s sold-out, star-studded performance at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional, with all proceeds going to the reconstruction of CDSJ. Her albums Un Canto Por México Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are based on the music performed at that concert.
About El Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho:
El Centro de Documentación de Son Jarocho (CDSJ) is a musical space in Jáltipan, Veracruz, founded by Ricardo Perry y Los Cojolites over 20 years ago. Since then, it has trained musicians and dancers, while also offering courses in textiles, pottery, culinary arts and other skills important to residents. The CDSJ has strengthened the social fabric and community traditions, as well as serving as Mexico’s repository for information about the area’s native son Jarocho musical style. In September 2017, the CDSJ was hit hard by a series of earthquakes, and Natalia Lafourcade stepped up to support its recovery. She teamed up with Nido Social A.C., Fideicomiso Fuerza México, Fundación Pienza Sostenible and Taller ADG, to create Juntos Por CDSJ (@juntos_cdsj), which recruits volunteers, raises funds and directs aid for the reconstruction of the center and the homes of families.
