MYA junto a EMILIA presenta su nuevo single “HISTERIQUEO”
MIAMI (12 de marzo, 2020) – MYA, el dúo juvenil de música Pop-Urbana continúan escalando su popularidad dentro y fuera de su país de origen, Argentina. Comenzando el 2020 con su gira de verano por la costa atlántica argentina, su presentación en el Festival de Villa Maria, Córdoba, y su más reciente participación en el Festival de Viña del Mar como invitados de Pedro Capó, donde interpretaron juntos su hit “Te Olvidaré”. Hoy jueves 12 de marzo, MYA estará encargado de abrir el show de Maroon 5 el en Campo Argentino de Polo de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Con este inicio de año, MYA lanza hoy su nuevo single “Histeriqueo” junto a Emilia. El video, grabado en Miami y dirigido por Martin Seipel, cuenta con una estética de road movie en la que tres estafadores roban una importante cantidad de dinero y terminan engañándose entre ellos mismos, mostrando a MYA y a Emilia de una manera no antes vista. La canción fue grabada en los estudios de Ily Wonder (productor y músico), en donde conocieron a Lexuz y Güero, productores y autores con los que empezaron a intercambiar ideas y melodías hasta dar vida a este nuevo single.
“Esta canción nació en una de las sesiones de composición durante la gira que hicimos por Colombia. Hace tiempo veníamos hablando del tema del HISTERIQUEO. Sentíamos que es una situación que pasa a diario; sobre todo en las redes sociales. A pesar de ser una palabra súper Argentina, sabemos que esto sucede en cualquier parte del mundo y nos gustó la idea de poder incluir esta palabra tan nuestra al vocabulario de nuestros oyentes que nos escuchan desde otros países. Luego pensamos en sumar una mujer para que exprese su postura en este tipo de situaciones, nos juntamos a cenar con Emi Mernes, amiga y gran artista, le mostramos la idea y le gustó mucho, la invitamos a sumarse y escribió sus líneas poniéndole un toque de picardía y sensualidad que hicieron que la canción crezca mucho más”, cuenta MYA. “¡Fue increíble trabajar con ella ya que somos muy amigos y nos divertimos mucho en el proceso!!”
Por su parte, Emilia afirma: “Desde hace tiempo veníamos hablando con Agus y Maxi para hacer una colaboración, pero nunca se daba por un tema de tiempo. Un día nos juntamos a cenar y nos mostramos las canciones que venimos trabajando. En cuanto me lo propusieron participar de HISTERIQUEO, dije que si de una. Primero porque son amigos, los quiero muchísimo y los he admirado desde siempre. Segundo porque confío plenamente en su proyecto y tercero porque la canción es una bomba, así que estoy muy agradecida con ellos de que me hayan hecho parte de algo tan bello”.

MYA And EMILIA Premiere Their Single And Video “HISTERIQUEO”
MIAMI (March 12, 2020) – The youthful urban-pop group MYA keeps on surprising us. The duo kicked off 2020 with a summer tour of coastal cities in their native Argentina. They also performed at Córdoba’s Festival de Villa Maria, Córdoba. And most recently, they appeared at the iconic International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile, as guests of the Puerto Rican star Pedro Capó, with whom they performed their hit “Te Olvidaré.” On March 12, MYA will open for Maroon 5 at Buenos Aires’ Campo Argentino de Polo de la Ciudad.
Building on this momentum, MYA releases their new single “Histeriqueo” with Emilia. Filmed in Miami by director Martin Seipel, its music video features a road-movie aesthetic in which the artists show an unexpected side of themselves, pulling off a major heist before devolving into backstabbing. The audio was recorded at the studios of producer and musician Ily Wonder. There, the duo met songwriters and producers Lexuz and Güero, with whom they exchanged ideas and melodies as this new single took shape.
Recalling how “Histeriqueo” came together, MYA points out: “This song was born in a writing session that took place during a tour of Colombia. We had been talking about ‘histeriqueo’ (leading someone on and flaking) for a while, since we see it happen every day on social media.”
“Although ‘Histeriqueo’ is part of Argentine slang, we know that people from other countries will quickly grasp its meaning, and we like the idea of popularizing this word internationally. We wanted a female artist to join us to give her perspective on this phenomenon. We had dinner with Emi “Emilia” Mernes, who is a great friend of ours and an outstanding artist. We showed her the idea and she really liked it. We invited her to add her vocals and lyrics to the track, and her mischievous, sensual contributions really take it to the next level. Working with her was incredible since we are already close friends, and we had a lot of fun.”
Emilia adds: “We had been talking with MYA’s members Maxi and Agus for a long time about doing something together, but our schedules were never in sync. Finally we had dinner one day and we showed each other some songs we had been working on. I wasted no time in saying ‘yes’ to ‘Histeriqueo,’ first of all because they are my friends, I adore them and have always admired them. Second, because I have total faith in their project; and third, because this song is the bomb. So I’m grateful that they have made me part of something so beautiful.”
In a joint statement, MYA and Emilia sum it up: “We hope you enjoy listening to the song just as much as we enjoyed making it!”
